In the overview of project colleagues on the right, it would be good to add
the research group/company and WPs they are working in. Specifically for
new projects, you don't know everyone and then it is nice to have some
additional information. Also a clear overview of WP leaders might be a nice
add-on (Female, 26-30 years, Senior Researcher).

What we really need to run a project are mail groups and a fileserver, that's
it. IBBT should go back to mail groups in which mails behave exactly as
ordinary mails […]. It should turn MyBBT into a much simpler, much more
user friendly fileserver (Male, 36-40 years, Professor).

It seems that there are many features on MyBBT that I don’t know about,
so more information about the features would be good (Female, 20-25
years, Administrative or support function).

1 PMGT 611 Team Project For this project, you will work in your assigned team. Each team will assign a project manager. The Team Project is due in WBS 8 and the Team Project presentation is due in WBS Level 9. Instructions for submission of all parts of the project are listed within those Levels. Background Information You have just been hired as the new chief information officer for a mid-size university. The university has recently joined a group of other universities as part of a new alliance. This new alliance requires the university to revisit its IT strategy, operations, policies, and budget to optimize the use of Information Technology assets and resources. Major IT projects are expected to take place in the future. One of these major projects is the implementation of a uniform enterprise resources planning system to serve the university’s academic and administration needs. This is a significant category of project that typically takes 1 to 2 years or more to complete. Even more importantly, you observe that the current organization is inadequate for implementing this major undertaking. This project will therefore involve almost every single unit in the organization. Not only will you need to update the organizational structure, but you will also need to train users on the new system, and work with every single department to convert their existing data into the new system and make sure that all these systems are now integrated. In your first university executive steering committee meeting, you were told: 1. IT-related projects are hurting the university budget. The university has been struggling to complete projects on time and within budget. Statistics show that:  24% of all projects were cancelled before they are completed,  44% of projects were late, over budget, and/ or missed meeting performance requirements  Only 32% of projects were delivered on time and within budget. 2. Another problem is that IT-related projects within university departments and colleges are not planned and executed in coordination with the Information Technology Division (ITD). As a result, the ITD is not aware of or cannot support several systems. 3. You also gathered from the meeting that most deans and directors believe it is not necessary to coordinate with ITD if the money is coming out of their budget. They also believe that they know better than ITD what systems can better serve their needs. 4. In private, the university told you that the relationship between ITD and some university departments needed to improve. Your assistant chief information officer has not exactly been the most courteous when it comes to communication with university deans and directors. This assignment specifically addresses the following course outcome to enable you to: • explain the roles and responsibilities of an information technology department to support an organization's IT strategy CIO Organizational Structure Memo For this assignment, you will assume the role of the Chief Information O~cer (CIO) at RR (i.e., you are Carol). Since you are RR's first CIO, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) has asked you for a plan for the organizational changes you need to make. 23. Some quotes … In the overview of project colleagues on the right, it would be good to add the research group/company and WPs they are working in. Specifically for new projects, you don't know everyone and then it is nice to have some additional information. Also a clear overview of WP leaders might be a nice add-on (Female, 26-30 years, Senior Researcher). What we really need to run a project are mail groups and a fileserver, that's it. IBBT should go back to mail groups in which mails behave exactly as ordinary mails […]. It should turn MyBBT into a much simpler, much more user friendly fileserver (Male, 36-40 years, Professor). It seems that there are many features on MyBBT that I don’t know about, so more information about the features would be good (Female, 20-25 years, Administrative or support function).
