The dehesa is derived from
the Mediterranean forest
ecosystem, consisting of
pastureland under an open
forest featuring herbaceous
species, such as the holm oak
and the cork oak.
 The more common animals
Dehesa in Extremadura of the dehesa are bulls, horses,
pigs and sheeps.

climate characterized by mild winters and hot, dry summers.
