2. E-Payment
• Electronic payment is a payment that is transmitted electronically
including telephone lines, mobile and Internet.
• E payment is a subset of an e-commerce transaction to include
electronic payment for buying and selling goods or services
offered through the Internet.
• Almost everyone will use the form of E-Payment in near future.

4. Debit Card
• An electronic card issued by a bank which allows bank clients
access to their account to withdraw cash or pay for goods and
services.
• Customer can only buy goods and services when he/she has
balance in his/her personal account.
5. Credit Card
• A card issued by a financial company giving the holder an option to
borrow funds, usually at point of sale.
• Credit cards charge interest and are primarily used for short-term
financing.
6. Prepaid Card
• A card issued by a financial institution that is preloaded with funds
and is used like a normal credit card.
• A prepaid credit card works in the opposite way of a normal
credit card, because instead of buying something with borrowed
funds (through credit), you buy things with funds that have
already been paid.
7. Smart Card
• Smart cards are at present overwhelmingly plastic credit
cards with an embedded computer chip.
• Used for health care, transportation, ID, retail, pay phones,
loyalty programs, banking machines
• It Can hold private user data, such as financial facts
• Can store about 100 times more information than a magnetic strip
plastic card
• Safer than conventional credit cards
8. Mobile Payments
• Consumers can use their mobile phone to pay for transactions in
several ways.

9. Biometric Payments
• Electronic payments using biometrics are still largely in their
infancy. Trials are underway in the United States, Australia and a

10. Television Set-Top Boxes and Satellite Receiver
• Specialized boxes attached to a television can also be used for
payments in some locations.
• The set-top box attaches to the television and a keyboard or other
device, and customers can make purchases by viewing items on
the television. Payment is made electronically using a credit card
or other account.
11. Person to Person payments (P2P)
• P2P payments enable one individual to pay another using an
account, a prepaid card or another mechanism that stores value.
PayPal in the US, which was recently purchased by Ebay, is one of
the most frequently used P2P mechanisms.
12. Micro-Payments
• A very small payment made each time a user accesses an Internet
page or service.
• Long distance phone call charge is an example of a micro-payment
• A micropayment is an e-commerce transaction-type with a low
financial amount. Micropayments are typically used to purchase
online products and services such as e-books, music and
