process of getting traffic from the “free,” “organic,”
“editorial” or “natural” search results on search engines.

4. On-Page SEO
In search engine optimization, on-page
optimization refers to factors that have an
effect on your Web site or Web page listing
in natural search results. These factors are
controlled by you or by coding on your
page. Examples of on-page optimization
include actual HTML code, meta tags,
keyword placement and keyword density.
On page SEO is perhaps the most
important process not only for better
rankings but also for a successful internet marketing campaign. Every
campaign starts from the web site and if your web site is not optimized for
both search engines and users, your chances for success are minimized.

5. Content Quality:
Provide high-quality content on your pages, especially your
homepage. This is the single most important thing to do. If
your pages contain useful information, their content will
attract many visitors and entice webmasters to link to your
site. In creating a helpful, information-rich site, write pages
that clearly and accurately describe your topic. Think about the words
users would type to find your pages and include those words on your site.
Content Keywords:
Use of keywords are very important for on page seo of
your articles. You should use keywords in Headings,
Image tags, Body content, URL and Description. You
can target multiple keywords on 1 page but, unless
they’re very closely related, it can be difficult to do. The
best approach is to have1 main keyword target for each page, and then to also target variations of
that keyword with that same page.

6. Heading tags are used to define the headings in your
page. There are 6 available, h1 set of heading tags
being the biggest and boldest and the h6 set being the
smallest. You should use them as you would if you were
writing a book or article and not to highlight text in your
page. The size, color and other
Heading Titles:
presentation attributes of these tags can be changed in your style sheet
just as you would change your text.
Meta Description:
Meta descriptions, though not important to search
engine rankings, play a very important role in
improving click-through rates from the search engine
results pages to your website. It’s important that your
website has strong meta-descriptions for every page,
and this guide is intended to help you achieve just that.

7. Fast loading web sites in fact lead to higher visitor
engagement, retention and conversions. Your visitors
come from different areas with slow and fast internet
connections. You often loose 50% of your traffic due to
slow load time.
Page loading speed:
Descriptive URL:
URLs describe a site or page to visitors and search
engines. Keeping them relevant, compelling, and
accurate is the key to ranking well. The URL of a web
document should ideally be as descriptive and brief as
possible. If, for example, a site's structure has several
levels of files and navigation, theURL should reflect this with folders and subfolders. Individual pages' URLs
should also be descriptive without being overly lengthy, so that a visitor
who sees only the URL could have a good idea of what to expect on the
page.

8. Off-Page SEO
Off page SEO refers to techniques that can be used to
improve the position of a web site in the search engine
results page (SERPs). Many people associate off-
page SEO with link building but it is not only that. In
general, off Page SEO has to do with promotion
methods – beyond website design –for the purpose of
ranking a website higher in the search results. Off
page SEO gives them a very good indication on how
the World (other websites and users) perceive the particular website. A web
site that is useful is more likely to have references (links) from other
websites; it is more likely to have mentions on social media (Facebook
likes, tweets, Pins, +1’s etc.) and it is more likely to be bookmarked and
shared among communities of like-minded users.

9. Meta Tags:
The <meta> tag provides metadata about the HTML
document. Metadata will not be displayed on the page, but
will be machine passable. Meta elements are typically
used to specify page description, keywords, author of the
document, last modified, and other metadata. The
metadata can be used by browsers(how to display content or reload page), search engines (keywords), or
other web services.
Submitting articles to other sites will build up your
reputation as an authority in your subject matter. It will
also provide you with back links from high ranking sites
that have relevant keywords to your site content. It can be
very time consuming
Articles Submitting:
but it is worth it in the end, I recommend trying to do a couple articles a
week and build from there if you have the time.

10. Commenting is one of the easiest way to drive traffic.
building back links and building a relation with other
bloggers. Though people some time misunderstood that
more comments means more traffic and better relation with
bloggers. This is true only if commentators are adding useful
and valuable comments. From my
Commenting on other websites:
personal experience I have build relation with other bloggers by adding
comments (useful one) on there blogs.
Link Exchange is a technique of exchanging the url
between two websites but At present link exchanges
are not nearly as effective as they once used to be.
Search engines have become smarter and shady
linking schemes have become

detectable. By participating in link exchange schemes, you bear the
risk of getting penalized or even banned by the search engines.

11. Backlinks, also known as incoming links, inbound links,
inlinks, and inward links, are incoming links to a website or
web page. In basic link terminology, a backlink is any link
received by a web node (web page, directory, website,
or top level domain)
Backlinks:
from another web node. Search engines often use the number of
backlinks that a website has as one of the most important factors for
determining that website's search engine ranking, popularity and
importance.
Social sharing:
Social media marketing is the process of gaining website
traffic or attention through social media sites. Social
media marketing programs usually center on efforts to
create content that attracts attention and encourages
readers to share it acrosstheir social networks. The resulting electronic word of mouth (eWoM)
refers to any statement consumers share via the Internet (e.g., web
sites, social networks, instant messages, news feeds) about an event,
product, service, brand or company.

12. While nobody can guarantee top level positioning in search engine organic
results, proper search engine optimization can help. Because the search
engines, such as Google, Yahoo!, and Bing, are so important today it is
necessary to make each page in a Web site conform to the principles of
good SEO as much as possible.
To do this it is necessary to:
Understand the basics of how search engines rate sites
Use proper keywords and phrases throughout the Web site
Avoid giving the appearance of spamming the search engines
Write all text for real people, not just for search engines
Use well-formed alternate attributes on images
Make sure that the necessary meta tags (and title tag) are installed in
the head of each Web page
Make sure the Web site is regularly updated so that the content is
fresh
