Acute: Inflammation of the mucous membrane of
the maxillary sinus
- Infection either nasal or dental
- Severe pain, radiating to the eye, cheek and
frontal region
- Teeth become tender
-Nasal discharge- later becomes mucopupulent
- Irritation of the nasopharynx
-General symptoms: chills, sweat, elevation of
