- What is the varieties of english?
- Why English become the 2nd language in
malaysia
-What is the different between malaysian
english and british english?
-Why english laguage become foreign
language in indonesia not as the second
language?
English varieties are generally considered to be
dialects when they are 'mutually
comprehensible'. Speakers of different dialects
can easily and automatically understand each
other.
 In the first half of the 20th century, Malaysian
English was exactly similar to British English
However in the post-colonial era (after 1957), the
influx of American TV programmers has
influenced the usage of Malaysian English. There
is no official language board, council or
organization to ensure the correct and standard
usage of Malaysian English, because after
independence, malay replaced English as the
 official language.

 ESL is spoken in countries where English is an
important and usually official language, but
not the main language of the country.
 These countries are typically ex-colonies of
the United Kingdom or the United States.
Nigeria, India, Malaysia, and the Philippines
are examples of countries in which English is
said to be spoken and used as a second
  language.
 EFL occurs in countries where English is not
actually used or spoken very much in the
normal course of daily life or a language that
is not used as a means of communication in
certain countries where the language is
 taught such as in Indonesia.
Why English Language
become Foreign Language
 in Indonesia not as the
    Second Language?
 Because, in Indonesia there is not the english
community. And While foreign language is
usually taught as a subject in schools with
the aim of communicating the basic and
  master four language skills (listening,
reading, writing, speaking) in that language
  to some extent.
 So, In Indonesia, English is not used as a
means of daily communication, but is used as
  a foreign
