In This Presentation:
1. The process of passing any information from one person to the
other person with the aid of some medium is termed as
communication.[1]
2. The imparting or exchanging of information by speaking, writing, or
using some other medium [2]
3. Communication (from Latin "communis", meaning to share) is the
activity of conveying information through the exchange of
thoughts, messages, or information, as by speech, visuals, signals,
writing, or behavior. [3]

Introduction to communication
Communication process is a process of transferring message from sender
or speaker to the receiver or listener; and after receiving the message from
sender, receiver understands it in the desired form, and then act
accordingly.

 Communication among the business workers in same organization
 It creates, implements and tracks the success of the business
operating plans
 It has many forms:
-Order and instruction
-Report
-Email etc.

Inter-operational communication
 Communication related to people or group outside. Example:
Suppliers, costumers, service companies, government agencies etc.
 Example of external operational communications are:
• Pamphlets or brochures
• Advertisement on radio, newspaper, TV, website, boards etc.
 It improves public relation and convey the image of the company.

1. Non-business related, exchange of information and feelings among
people
2. It affects employee’s attitude and attitude affects performance.
3. Personal communication enhances both internal and external
communications.

1. Cultural biasness of sender/receiver
2. Use of several cliches and jargons
3. Noise in the channel or transmission
4. Difference in the frame of reference (Sender should send
message which receiver can understand/ receiver centered or
oriented)

Barriers of effective communication
1. Courtesy(demonstrate politeness): Good manner, Avoid anger,
Respect
2. Clarity(speaking clear): Use of simple and familiar words and
short sentences
3. Conciseness(being wise): Consider value of time, avoid
repetition of words
4. Correctness: Correct use of grammar, wise word selection
5. Consideration: Keep your receiver in mind
6. Concreteness: Use of figures, facts and avoid abstract ideas
7. Completeness: Giving complete idea to receiver, avoid
speaking half
