4. The 2013 Lions tour was to take place in Australia. For this tour
Warren Gatland was selected as head coach, while Wales’ captain
Sam Warburton was selected as captain.
The initial squad consisted of 37 men, made up of 15 Welsh, 10
English, 9 Irish and 3 Scottish.
Before the tour, which took place in June/July of 2013 the Lions had
won 15 of their 20 tests against Australia.

5. Sam Warburton was named the captain at the age of 24, becoming
the youngest man to lead the Lions.
Other men that were a part of the Lions Squad included: Leigh
Halfpenny, Adam Jones and Brian O’Driscoll.
For a period of three days former Welsh international Shane
Williams was called up to join the squad for the game against the
Brumbies.

first test series win since beating South Africa in 1997.
The Lions only suffered two losses during the entirety of the tour.
The first being a 14-12 to the Brumbies, with the second being a 16-
15 loss to Australia during the second test match.
A total of 10 Welsh players started during the third and deciding
test match against Australia, with Alun Wyn Jones leading the
squad to a 16-41 victory.
The largest victory during the tour was 64-0 against the Combined
NSW-QLD Country.
