On a class trip to the Swansea Central Library, the student had tasks to find the Wi-Fi password, a book related to their project, and take photos. They easily found the Wi-Fi information but had difficulty locating a relevant book. They also did not take any photos. The library had many amenities including computers, accessibility features, and printing services.
1. On Friday we visited the Swansea Central Library in the
Swansea Civic Centre. It was a fun day as we had a chance
to go out and we weren’t on the computers all day.
During the day we had a few tasks to do, these were:
•Task 1 – Ask a member of staff for the SSID number and
the Wi-Fi password
•Task 2 – Find a book to do with my AON project.
•Task 3 – Take photo’s
I was able to find out the SSID number and the Wi-Fi
password with ease but finding a book to do with my AON
project as it is about comparing games consoles was
difficult. There weren’t many books to do with gaming. I also
didn’t manage to take any photo’s.
I went with my class from Swansea ITeC and we went in the
staff members cars from ITeC. As there was only 1 car, my
tutor had to make two trips as there weren’t enough seats in
the car for all of us to fit in at once.
There were a lot of
facilities there: -
•63 PC’s with free
access.
•Wheelchair accessible
•Hearing loop
•Toilets
•Photocopiers
•Scanners
•Digital text enlarging
