The Benguela Current Convention was signed in 2013 in Angola to establish functional governance of the Benguela Current Large Marine Ecosystem. It created a commission and working groups from multiple nations to revise strategic policies, enhance understanding of ocean governance, and mobilize resources for conservation efforts over five years, including an Africa LME Caucus.
