4. A solar eclipse happens when the moon passes directly between the sun and the earth.

5. A lunar eclipse happens when the moon passes through the earth's shadow .

6. There are two ways an eclipse can happen.

7. There could be a total eclipse or a partial eclipse.

8. A total eclipse is much rarer than a partial eclipse.

9. When there is a lunar eclipse the moon turns a reddish color.

10. It is caused by a bending of sunlight caused by the earth's atmosphere. ,

11. But this only happens when there is a total lunar eclipse.
