2. Accessibility Car This is the route from London to lake district. By car you have to travel on the M1 then change to the M6. Trains The West Coast mainline runs to the east of the Lake District, connecting Oxenholme, Penrith and Carlisle with London and Glasgow. A direct train runs from Manchester to Windermere. Local trains call at Kendal, Staveley and Windermere. There is also route following the Cumbrian coastline. I believe the age of people visiting would be ranging from around 30-40 years of age as people too young may not understand the beauty of lake district. Couples of families may visit lake district as it may romantic for couples and refreshing for families.
