Project Title: Concept Design Review

Project Description
ISFM was requested by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC)
to undertake a review of a concept design for the Malay-
sian Cricket Association. The design had been developed
by local architects for a new regional cricket academy in
Kuala Lumpur.
Following an initial review, it was evident that a number
of changes to the concept would be necessary in order
for the facility to operate effectively as a cricket academy
and a quality playing facility. Notable changes included:
− Reorientation of the centre wickets
to a north/south direction
− Relocation of pavilion from eastern
to western side of the oval
− Relocation of outdoor practice wick-
ets off field to the rear of the new
pavilion location
− Relocation of maintenance shed to
the north western corner of the site
to enable easy access to outdoor
wickets and playing field
− Increase in the size of the change/
locker rooms from 15 sqm to 60 sqm
− Increase in the size of the gymnasi-
um from 36 sqm to 100 sqm
− Provision for a lecture theatre as
well as a medical/physiotherapy
area
