2. 1. Eminem – Space Bound

3. • There are many representations to the Rap genre in the
song Space Bound, for example the starting clip of the
film sets the mood of the song, this is because it is dark
and gloomy, and the song is about trust and love and
from the video you can see that it is broken. From the
second image I have taken from the video, it is split in
too sides, this could represent that there is always two
sides to a situation but people don’t realise this and the
person is stuck between the truth and himself, this
represents the situations people may get into in real
life. There is also pictures of guns and smoking, this
reflects on the type of background the video is based
on, which could be drugs leading to rough people or
environments that are into drugs and smoking, there is
also violence in the video, which makes it aimed at
people over the age of 18.

4. 2. Jay z – 99 problems

5. • In jay z’s 99 problems, there is a lot of
representations of criminal activity and again
talking about the love for females, for example on
the first image you can see graffiti, this shows us
that it is a rural area already because it has bad
images around the walls of the area and also a lot
of rough houses and buildings, this represents the
background of the video and how it relates to
people in the similar situation. Also later in the
video there is police cars chasing them, however
they have done nothing wrong and is just a problem
to people in that area, also the main caption in this
song is “iv got 99 problems but a girl isn’t one” to
show that girls are involved again in rap songs.

6. 3. Eminem - Stan

7. • From the first image you can see it sets the scene again,
dirt on the walls and the person being feed up and
living in a rough area, later in the video it shows how
“Stan” is in love with Eminem and ends up taking his life
because he ignored him, he rejects his girlfriend and
hits her. This shows problems that happen in real life
and represent how hard times can result in stress and
the wrong decisions and that people do not think
straight when they do the wrong things. It also suggests
that without the healthy lifestyle and having no money
can impact on what a person feels like and does. The
fact that the female in the video is abused and doesn’t
get the attention she needs shows again that in the rap
genre videos that girls play a vital part in the feelings of
the songs
