Early Childhood Education
Our Early Childhood Education (ECE) programs offer in-depth learning
experiences, focusing on the developmental stages of childhood: infants, toddlers,
preschoolers, and young school-age children.Varied in-class activities and
hands-on, practical experiences enable you to create nurturing environments for
children. These courses will prepare you to work professionally in a variety of
community child care settings.
All students entering the ECE program must first take an English assessment.
Please call 416-289-5300 or visit centennialcollege.ca/assessment for information
and to book your assessment online. You must be at an ENGL-160 or ENGL-161
level to be a successful applicant to this program.
Due to the nature of ECE programs, students must provide a recent criminal
reference check prior to each field practicum and required courses.A criminal
record or charges pending before the courts in regard to crimes against vulnerable
populations may determine eligibility for courses and completion of the program.
Please note:These programs require assignments and practicums, in full-time weekday childcare
settings. If you are a returning student who has not taken courses during the past three years,
please contact the program supervisor for assistance regarding re-entry,
