› Issue:
 The warning message is one of the most important
issue.
 Most software now provides this function when
users make important decisions (i.e., delete data,
close windows)
 Google Chrome does not provide any message
when users try to close the entire browser.
 Which may lead to data lost if users just tend to
close one single tab.
 Internet Explorer and Firefox will pop up a proper
warning box asking for confirmation thereby
preventing unwanted operations.

 Chrome will always narrow
down all the tabs without
giving any description of
web pages, which makes
them hard to be recognize .

› One of the most used
solutions for this problem
is to hide some tabs
temporarily and show
them when needed.
› In addition, several words
of the title description or
the icon of the related
webpage should always
be shown.
› To give more user friendly
feature, colorful tabs can
be used to help users
distinguish and navigate
more easily

9.  Restore session in reusable
› Issue:
 When a user closes the browser, they expect
that they will be able to restore their previous
sessions.
 Chrome provides this feature, however it is too
unusable that people do not even know that
exist because the restore option is placed at
the right corner in a very small font.

10.  Solutions:
› There are several suggestions regarding getting
a solution for this usability issue such as:
 Session restore option must be presented very
clear and must be shown at the top or center
of the welcome page, and also its font must
be big enough to be detected.
 Another suggestion is to have the restore
session option as it is, but show a popup dialog
coming from its place to mention to the users
that this is where they restore the session.

11.  Chrome blank new
tab button
› Issue:
 At the start people
think that chrome
blank new tab button is a
bug.
 For a new user, there is no
context or hints as to the Old Google Chrome
purpose of the button,
not even a tooltip.
 But it looks like something
is broken.
 The “+” button to open a
new tab is not showing up
in Chrome browser.

that show that it is

› Issue:
 When unexpected
error happens, we get
the following error
message in Chrome
 This error handling
causes us to lose the
current tab or
restarting the browser.
 If we did, we will face
the other restore
handling issue.
 In addition, the error
message will be more
challenging for
handling.

14.  Solution
› If the page wasn’t ended intentionally, reload
the page to continue. If the message continues
to appear, try closing inactive tabs or other
programs to free up more memory.
