The survey results showed that the target audience for the music video is 14-26 year olds who enjoy pop and indie music. Over 90% of respondents said they like watching music videos. Most respondents preferred outdoor settings like fields and forests for music videos. This is helpful for the creator since their song footage was mostly filmed in gardens and fields. The majority also said they enjoy seeing stories depicted in music videos, which matches the storytelling nature of the creator's song.
12. My Results The results I received from my questionnaire show that my audience will be between 14-26 as are the ones who are most interested in my song and therefore relate to it as I expected they would be. The song is fairly upbeat and tells a story within the song, for this I wanted to find out what do people enjoy watching in a music video and 63% of them said they enjoy watching a story. I was also glad that the majority of my audience who took my questionnaire liked hearing pop and indie music, which is beneficial in helping me as my chosen song, is also a mixture between pop and indie. From my results I also found that over 90% of the audience that took my questionnaire like to watch music and therefore show that mine will be popular. I wanted to use this opportunity to help me in choosing my target audience and seeing what people of this generation wants to see in music videos. I also asked in my questionnaire what to people like to see in music videos such as location and over 50% liked field and forest which is good as I have filmed mostly in my garden and in fields. Also I am the same age range as my target audience so this helps me more into seeing what people want and enjoy to see.
