*Nonlinear functions ­ graphs that don't create a straight line when graphed
*quadratic functions ­ nonlinear graphs and written in the form f(x) = ax2 + bx + c
*parabola ­ the shape of the graph of a quadratic function
*axis of symmetry ­ the line that divides the parabola into 2 equal halves
*vertex ­ the point where the axis of symmetry intersect the parabola
*minimum or maximum ­ the lowest point or highest point
If a > 0, the graph opens upward
If a < 0, the graph opens downward

2 ­ Find the vertex, and determine if the graph opens up or down
