Square Enix launched a limited edition Final Fantasy XII Serious Card to promote the game's release in Europe and other territories. Over 39,000 cards were distributed to retailers across 10 countries as a preorder bonus or purchase incentive. The card allowed players to access exclusive online content like wallpapers and enter sweepstakes. Square Enix was able to track usage data from the cards to analyze the effectiveness of the promotion and audience demographics.
