The A.K. Smiley Library in Redlands, California was originally built in 1898 and donated to the city by Albert K. Smiley. It was designed in the Moorish (Mission) style by architect T.R. Griffith. Additional wings were later added in 1907, 1920, 1926, 1930, and 1990 to expand the original library. The library was built on land that was previously orange groves and was located prominently in the downtown area overlooking the city center.
