2. The Digestive System Important because helps break down food we eat, gets nutrition and vitamins body needs. When begin to eat saliva breaks down the food. When swallowed it goes through esophagus then goes to stomach. When it pass to small intestine it is a mushy substance. After some stuff goes to large intestine and some becomes wastes.
3. Mouth This is where the digestion starts. Enzymes is created when starting digestion. Saliva creates chemicals to help break down the food.
4. Esophagus Tube connects to the mouth and stomach. food goes to first in digestive system. Food goes through the esophagus not windpipe.
5. Stomach A organ that mixes all the food. Turn the food into liquid substance. It stores food you have eaten.
6. Liver Large organ cleans body and get rid of poisons. Sends juice to different parts of body. Juice from liver called bile helps absorb fats into bloodstream.
7. Pancreas It helps the body breaks down food. It grinds the food up even more. Makes juice and helps digest fats and protein.
8. Small intestine A tube that pass the foods to the large intestine. Absorb all the vitamins, minerals, proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. Breaks food down even more and thinner and more watery.
9. Large intestine Decides to keep or get rid of the food. Pushes poop to the rectum. Intestinal wall absorbs the nutrition .
