3. Describe your personal learning
preferences
• In the beginning of class, my scores for the learning style survey were as follows: for active, I scored
a 0, for reflective, I scored a 1, for sensory, I scored a 9, for intuitive, I scored a 0, for visual, I scored
a 0, for verbal, I scored a 1, for sequential, I scored a 3, and finally, for global, I scored a 0. The
scores ranged from a 0-10. Scoring a 0 meant least likely and scoring a 10 meant more likely. As you
can tell, I favor sequential and sensory learning skills. This meant that I when I am taught new
things, I prefer learning the new information in linear steps. I find myself wanting to understand the
baby steps when solving a complex problem. Also, I am a sensory learner meaning I prefer
familiarity with subjects. I also concentrate on what I know, which leads to me being less innovative
with new ideas. At the end of class, my views towards my learning preferences changed. After I
finished taking the preliminary test, I didn't whole-heartedly agree with the results. But as soon as
classes dragged on, I found myself supporting the scores I scored on the test. I was fairly sensory
and sequential when it came to learning new concepts in my physics class. At the end of class, my
thinking changed about learning preferences overall. I believe that the learning preference test we
all took in the beginning effectively demonstrates our learning tendencies when it comes to school
and classes. Learning about our personal learning preferences certainly does make a difference in
learning success. Knowing our strongest and weakest characteristics forces us to focus on what we
are strong at and stick to it while working on our weakest characteristics and strive to change it
4. Describe the learning pathway you
chose at the beginning of the class
• In the beginning of class, my learning pathway was a
learning warrior. After completing the multimedia learning
quests, I do feel like I gained deeper knowledge about
multimedia technologies as a whole. For example, I learned
that games and MMORPG' are really versatile when
simulating real life situations. They are really helpful and
complementary when learning new concepts and ideas in
class as well. If I don't understand what's being
taught, playing through a game can help clarify things.
Towards the end of the semester, I have never changed my
learning pathway. I never did because the pathway of a
learning warrior always appealed to me. Understanding and
learning about the whole concept seemed more beneficial
to me than the two other learning pathways.
5. Describe how the activities you
completed contributed or did not
contribute which your learning pathway
• The specific activity,
to helped me get a broader understanding of how
to use a multimedia technology for learning, was the forum posts. The
forum posts helped because everyone has to post a question for others to
answer. Everybody's questions were all different from each other, thus
introducing broad questions regarding multimedia technologies. I learned
a lot about the different areas of multimedia technologies. The forum
posts helped introduce many different topics. The specific activity, which
helped me get a deeper understanding of how to use multimedia
technologies for learning, was the quizzes. The quizzes regarding
multimedia technologies each had questions with definite answers. Every
question pinpointed important information I should know about
multimedia technologies. The activities, which worked the best for
learning about multimedia technologies, were the forum posts as well.
The forum required every student in the class to participate collaboratively
by asking and answering various questions about the technology

explored for learning
The multimedia technology quest I further explored for my
own learning were games and massively multiplayer online
role-playing games. I feel like these multimedia-learning
technologies successfully accommodated my learning
preferences. Mainly, my learning preferences that the
multimedia learning technologies accommodated were my
sequential preferences. It accommodated my sequential
preference because before I played any game, the game
introduced instructions and a brief summary of what I was
to do to play the game. The instructions were clear and
concise. It was easily understandable. Also, the games I
played each followed a logical path to completion. The
games didn't seem 'all over' the place. Each game gradually
went through logical steps until I eventually beat the game

The multimedia technology quest I

learning were the online Multimedia links located in the multimedia
quest section. All of the five links allowed me to physically role-play
and pretend I was a doctor, designer, and even a politician. I feel like
these multimedia-learning activities successfully accommodated my
sequential and sensory learning preferences. These activities
accommodated my learning preferences because every activity
required me to thoroughly think through what I was going to do. It
helped strengthen my logical and critical thinking skills. The
activity, which helped the most, was pretending to be a mayor and
trying to fix the budget deficit. This activity really challenged my
sensory and sequential skills. I had to find an ideal plan, which
consisted on making cuts and maintaining certain state programs in
hopes that everyone will stay happy.

The multimedia technology quest I
learning
learning were iPads and Tablets. More specifically the iPad helped
accommodate my learning sequential and sensory learning
preferences. Throughout the semester, I downloaded educational
apps on my iPad. For example, I downloaded a flashcard app. Using
the app, I created flashcards and organized and learned them in
sequential order. This made learning the material a breeze and
extremely quick. Also, reviewing the multimedia flashcard app
challenged my sensory learning preference. For example, whenever
a flashcard came up and I didn't immediately know, I had to really
think about it and reflect upon anything relevant to the topic. This
allowed me to think the flashcard through and find the correct
answer by eliminating any answer, which didn't make sense.
9. Synthesize your experience
investigating your use of different
multimedia technologies for learning
• The multimedia technology that interested me the most as
a learning tool is games and MMORPG's. The multimedia
technology that surprised me the most as learning tool
were games and MMORPG's. The multimedia technology
that did not seem to work as a learning tool was also
certain games and MMORPG's. The multimedia
technologies that I would want to explore further to
explore my learning are the simulation multimedia
activities like the five links presented in the multimedia
quest. I feel like these simulation multimedia activities
really force someone to change personas and really 'buy'
into the activity. This leads to someone getting a better
understanding about the situation and the steps needed to
be successful.
10. Synthesize your experience
investigating your use of different
multimedia technologies for learning
• The social technology, which helped best for my learning
preferences were the simulation multimedia activities. For
example, the simulation about running a start up business really
accommodated my learning preferences. The simulated multimedia
activity challenged my sensory and sequential learning skills. I had
to pay attention to the weather, inventory, and price for my
lemonade that I was selling. Every day, I had to buy ice, lemons, and
sugar. After every day, all of the ice would melt and sometimes
lemons would spoil. I had to intelligently plan how much ice to buy
for the day, how much lemons I had, and my sugar levels. It was
hard to buy enough lemons for the day and not overstock as that
would lead to excess waste by the lemons spoiling. This activity
really helped me understand how hard it is to maintain and run a
start up business
11. Describe how you will use what you
learned in this class after this
semester
• The multimedia learning strategies that I will
continue to use after this class is the simulated
multimedia activities. When applying for a job, I
would try and find a simulated multimedia
activity simulating the type of job I am applying
for. For example, if I were trying to establish my
own start up, I would try and find games like the
lemonade stand game. I would play these games
and practice until I felt confident in myself. These
games would be valuable sources of practice. I
would also learn how to trust my instincts and
myself.
12. Describe how you will use what you
learned in this class after this
semesterwill continue to use for
• The multimedia technologies that I
learning after this class are multimedia-simulated games. I
will continue to use these technologies because nothing
teaches better than experience, whether it be real or
simulated. These can be used when learning at a job
because the simulated multimedia activities can simulate
the job I am applying for and seeing if I am cut out for the
job. The multimedia technologies, which I will continue to
use for non-learning purposes, are MMORPG's. These types
of games tend to be more fun than the simulation
multimedia type of games. I would not stop using any
multimedia technology after this class because I feel like
multimedia serves many purposes outside of education.
