Many of the first Navy Seals came from the underwater demolition team They specialized in anything in the air, on land, or at sea Men were trained in hand to hand combat, high altitude parachuting, demolitions and foreign languages. The first two locations they were based out of were Naval Amphibious Base Coronado in San Diego, and Base Little Creek in Virginia Beach

What it takes to be a seal The Navy Seal program is so tough there is an 80% dropout rate Seals undergo a year of training before they can be given the title Special Warfare Operator Naval Rating 24 weeks in United States Navy Seal Selection and training 28 week seal qualification program And for medics 26 weeks in Special Operations combat medic course 18 months of professional development/schools and troop unit training before each 6 month deployment
