I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
1. State the sequence of the story.
2. Define the meaning of argumentation.
3. Dramatize a specific part in the story by using argumentation.

1. Prayer
Lord, we thank You for this day you gather us to learn a new lesson.
Thank You for guiding us every day as we travel from our home to here. Please
protect the rest of our family who was left in our home. Give us enough wisdom
for us to use what we had learned in good ways. Forgive us in our sins and teach
us to forgive others too. These all we ask in the name of Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Class, before we go to our discussion do you
like to have first an energizer?

I have here a song entitled “Alive, Alert,
Awake, Enthusiastic”. I’ll sing it first then
afterwards we will sing it together.
The song goes like this.

Form six (6) groups. Each group should

This time, we are going to read the story.

Let me see if you really understand the
story.

Yes, Sir!

How the two families differ from each
other?

Sir, they differ in their living status. The
first family is poor and the second family
is rich.

How can you describe the poor family?

Sir, they are always happy, cheerful, and
healthy.

How about the rich family? How can you
describe them?

Sir, they are weak, insensible, and
unhealthy.

Why did the rich man filed a complaint
against the poor family?

Sir, because according to the rich man, the
poor family is stealing the spirit of their
wealth and poor.

How did the poor family reacted on the
complaint of the rich man?

Sir, they are confident because they know
in themselves that they do not steal
anything.
Sir, by tinkling coins in his hands.

How did the poor man pay the rich family?
Okay, very good. It seems that you really
understand the story.
At this juncture, let us discuss what is
argumentation. So, who has an idea about
argumentation.

Very good.

Sir, argumentation is a process of
reasoning systematically in support of an
idea, action or theory.
When we say argumentation, it is the
process of forming reasons, justifying
beliefs, and drawing conclusions with the
aim of influencing the thoughts and/or
action of others.
C. Generalization
So, now we will have again a group activity.
This time, we will just have three (3)
groups. Is that okay with you?
Each group will dramatize the part in the
story when the poor family was called in the
court. Show a nice argumentation in this
part. Get it?

You only have three (3) minutes to discuss it
with your group.

Prayer Lord, we thank You for this day you gather us to learn a new lesson. Thank You for guiding us every day as we travel from our home to here. Please protect the rest of our family who was left in our home. Give us enough wisdom for us to use what we had learned in good ways. Forgive us in our sins and teach us to forgive others too. These all we ask in the name of Lord Jesus Christ, Amen. Good morning, class. Good morning, Sir! 2. Keeping the room in order. 3. Checking of attendance. 4. Motivation. Teacher’s Activity Students’ Activity Class, before we go to our discussion do you like to have first an energizer? Yes,Sir! I have here a song entitled “Alive, Alert, Awake, Enthusiastic”. I’ll sing it first then afterwards we will sing it together. The song goes like this. Okay, so read first. Sir! Reading …….. Did you understand the story? Let me see if you really understand the story. Yes, Sir! How the two families differ from each other? Sir, they differ in their living status. The first family is poor and the second family is rich. How can you describe the poor family? Sir, they are always happy, cheerful, and healthy. How about the rich family? How can you describe them? Sir, they are weak, insensible, and unhealthy. Why did the rich man filed a complaint against the poor family? Sir, because according to the rich man, the poor family is stealing the spirit of their wealth and poor. How did the poor family reacted on the complaint of the rich man? Sir, they are confident because they know in themselves that they do not steal anything. Sir, by tinkling coins in his hands. How did the poor man pay the rich family? Okay, very good. It seems that you really understand the story. At this juncture, let us discuss what is argumentation. So, who has an idea about argumentation. Very good. Sir, argumentation is a process of reasoning systematically in support of an idea, action or theory.
  • 3. When we say argumentation, it is the process of forming reasons, justifying beliefs, and drawing conclusions with the aim of influencing the thoughts and/or action of others. C. Generalization So, now we will have again a group activity. This time, we will just have three (3) groups. Is that okay with you? Each group will dramatize the part in the story when the poor family was called in the court. Show a nice argumentation in this part. Get it? Yes, Sir! Yes, Sir! You only have three (3) minutes to discuss it with your group. (Presentation) Okay. So give yourself a nice clap for a well done performance. D. Evaluation Okay. Class, kindly get ½ crosswise.
