4. Good Things That Have
Come
Heb 9:11-14 ESV But when Christ appeared as a
high priest of the good things that have come,
then through the greater and more perfect tent
(not made with hands, that is, not of this creation)
(12) he entered once for all into the holy places,
not by means of the blood of goats and calves but
by means of his own blood, thus securing an
eternal redemption. (13) For if the blood of
goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled
persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the
purification of the flesh, (14) how much more
will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal
Spirit offered himself without blemish to God,
purify our conscience from dead works to serve
the living God.
5. Good Things That Have
Come
Let us Never Forget!!! John 3:16, 17
Rom 5:6-9 ESV For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ
died for the ungodly. (7) For one will scarcely die for a righteous
person--though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die--
(8) but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners,
Christ died for us. (9) Since, therefore, we have now been justified by
his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.
2Co 9:15 ESV Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!
6. Gave Blood Only Once
Heb 9:12 ESV he entered once for all into the holy places, not by means
of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus
securing an eternal redemption.
Heb 10:10 ESV And by that will we have been sanctified through the
offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Heb 10:26 ESV For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the
knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
7. Gave Blood Only Once
Heb 9:13-14 ESV For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling
of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification
of the flesh, (14) how much more will the blood of Christ, who through
the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our
conscience from dead works to serve the living God.
Heb 9:22-25 ESV Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified
with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of
sins. (23) Thus it was necessary for the copies of the heavenly things to
be purified with these rites, but the heavenly things themselves with
better sacrifices than these. (24) For Christ has entered, not into holy
places made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into
heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf. (25)
Nor was it to offer himself repeatedly, as the high priest enters the holy
places every year with blood not his own,
HIS Blood is Better
8. Gave Blood Only Once
Heb 10:4 ESV For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to
take away sins.
Heb 10:12-18 ESV But when Christ had offered for all time a single
sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, (13) waiting
from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet.
(14) For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are
being sanctified. (15) And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for
after saying, (16) "This is the covenant that I will make with them after
those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws on their hearts, and
write them on their minds," (17) then he adds, "I will remember their
sins and their lawless deeds no more." (18) Where there is forgiveness
of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.
HIS Blood is Better
9. Gave Blood Only Once
HIS Blood is Better
Heb 9:14 ESV how much more will the blood of Christ, who through
the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our
conscience from dead works to serve the living God.
1Pe 3:20-21 ESV because they formerly did not obey, when God's
patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in
which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water.
(21) Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a
removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good
conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
10. He Will Appear A Second
Time
Heb 9:26-28 ESV for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly
since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for
all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
(27) And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that
comes judgment, (28) so Christ, having been offered once to bear the
sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save
those who are eagerly waiting for him.
Act 1:11 ESV and said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into
heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come
in the same way as you saw him go into heaven."
Rev 1:7 ESV Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will
see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail
on account of him. Even so. Amen.
11. He Will Appear A Second
Time
2Th 1:7-9 ESV and to grant relief to you who are afflicted as well as
to us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty
angels (8) in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not
know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
(9) They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from
the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might,
