When we go shopping, we can go either to a big
shopping centre with huge choice of goods, or to the
shop which specializes in some extra goods, for
example……
We can do our shopping in a big shopping centre, for
example…,a small local shop, for example… or in a
street market. If we want to buy some designer clothes
or accessories, we go to the brand store or a boutique.

There is a big parking place for customers.

There are always a lot of people there, there are long
queues.
It is difficult to find a shop assistant when we need
him.
It is difficult to find a kind of goods we need.
Our shopping takes us a lot of time.
The quality of goods can be low.

disadvantages of shopping a small local
shop?
+ In a small local shop or stand the shopkeeper
himself assists us.
+ The shopping is very quick.
- There isn t so big choice of goods.
- The price is usually higher than in a department
store.

What do you do in a shop?
We go to the shop and pick up a basket or a
trolley.
We walk around the shop and choose what we
want.
If we have everything what we need we go to the
cash-desk/counter.
We pay for all our goods and pack our shopping.

There are two ways of paying - we can pay cash or
by credit card or cheques.
We pay cash for smaller purchase, if we buy for
example newspapers or rolls.
We pay by credit card if we do a bigger shopping.
Today, people pay by credit card very often, it’s quite
comfortable.
Are there any services in big shopping
centres?
There is usually a wide choice of services in shopping
centres, for example:
• Cafés and restaurants
• Fast food stalls
• Automatic teller machine
• Bank branches
• Toilets
• Parking area for customers
What do you think about internet
shopping?
Nowadays a lot of people do their
shopping on-line.
They order their goods from a website and
have them delivered.
What do you think about internet shopping?
+ We save our time and money when we buy
things on-line.
+ On-line shopping is quick and comfortable.
- We cannot try out products.
- There can be problems with making claims.
How often do you go shopping? What
are things you buy most often?

I go shopping for food with my mum every

shopping to stationary. I like shopping in small
