•   Facebook / YouTube / Twitter comments
•   Questionnaires
•   Focus groups
•   Interviews
•   YouTube statistics
Types of feedback
• Quantitative: This is feedback based on data.
  For example, Of 10 students questioned, 8
  rated Media Studies lessons as ‘average.’
• Qualitative: This is open, comment-based
  feedback. For example, Students described the
  teaching as ‘not bad,’ though one described
  the teacher as ‘looking a lot older than he
  really is.’
Collecting Feedback
• You need a mix of both quantitative and
  qualitative feedback.
• You can get quantitative feedback by asking
  closed questions – questions where there are
  fixed answers.
• You can get qualitative feedback by asking
  open questions – where you invite people to
  give a response.
Questionnaire Contents
• Information to give respondents:
   – the purpose of the questionnaire!
       • What is it about and where their answers be used.

• Different types of questions:
   – Closed
   – Likert scale
   – Multiple choice
   – Rank order
   – Open-ended
Questionnaire
TASK: Create a questionnaire to gather audience
feedback for your main task and ancillary texts.

You must collect a mix of qualitative and quantitative
feedback.

Your survey must help you establish:
1. Whether you have attracted the target audience
you aimed to;
2. Whether you have successfully represented your
artist in the way you intended to;
3. Whether you have succeeded in creating a ‘brand’
across all three media products.

For example, Of 10 students questioned, 8 rated Media Studies lessons as ‘average.’ • Qualitative: This is open, comment-based feedback. For example, Students described the teaching as ‘not bad,’ though one described the teacher as ‘looking a lot older than he really is.’
