2. Facebook
The like to use Facebook because I
can always see what my friends are to
up in their lives. Facebook helps me to
stay in touch with my loved ones and
old friends from school, so that is
what Facebook is one of my favorite
technologies.
3. Flickr
I like to use Flickr because it is a great way to
share and organize photos. Flickr works for me
because the tags helps me to organize the photos
so I can easily find them later. I also like to use
Flickr to look at other people’s photos. I like that
I can upload photos can set them to private or
public, so I can use Flickr for storage of photos
when my Hard drive gets crowed.
4. Delicious
I liked using Delicious to organize my bookmarks.
What I like most about the Delicious site is that I
can access my bookmarks from anywhere. Using
tags to organize bookmarks is another thing I liked
about using Delicious, it made finding my favorite
Web sites easy. I also liked being able to find
people who share the same interest as me.
5. LinkedIn
LinkedIn was one of my favorite technologies that we
learned about over the course of the semester. I liked
learning about this site because it can help me in my
future and career. I like the site mainly because of the
networking that can be done that on the site. I liked the
concept of adding individuals to the network and having
extended contacts. With networking with people and
companies on a site such as this one, it makes networking
easier and more convenient and that’s what I like about it.
6. PATIENTSLIKE
ME
This site was interesting to me because of the support system that has been
created to help individuals that suffer from life-changing conditions. I like
the idea of being able to reach out and support one another. Letting
someone know that they are not alone can make a big difference in
someone’s life. With a support system and information about a person’s
condition within a click is a neat way to keep support and awareness going.
The information and data that is on the site can be used for research to help
future patients of similar conditions and improve medical care to patients.
That was very interesting and gives hope to people who suffer from serious
illnesses.
7. Twitter
Twitter is not one of my favorite sites because I don’t
know many people who use it. I have used Twitter before,
but it just is not interesting to me. I look at Twitter as a
social networking site for famous people. I am not
famous, so I don’t care what famous people are doing.
Twitter is confusing in a way to me. When you want to tag
someone in a tweet or retweet you have to use the @
symbol and type in their twitter name, which is usually
long and I don’t like that. The followers and following is
something else I don’t like that much.
8. Digg
The Digg website is one of my least favorites because
you can read top news stories on the top news sites. I
only like to read local news most of the time, so I use
the local news stations Web sites. Most of the stories
on the site would not help or benefit me in my life, so
I don’t find it interesting. Digg is used by many
individuals with different interests, so all types of
news stories are on the site. I only want to read news
that interest me not everyone else.
9. BLOGS
I didn’t like creating and having a blog. I feel
like blogs are more for people who have
interest that would like to share with others,
and I don’t have that. A blog is somewhere
where individuals or business can go to share
information with others. I would rather look at
the website or google when I need to find
information. Blogs are boring to me. Blogs are
not useful in my life. Blogs can be complex.
10. Wikis
I do not like wikis because the content may
not be correct. Anyone can edit and add
content to a wiki. I don’t feel as if it is the
best source to get information from. The use
of multiple authors on a Wiki can cause
information to be incorrect. Wikis are not
normally my choice for research. I don’t like
Wikis because it can be complex to use and
the information comes from multiple sources.
11. Meetup
The site Meetup is one of my least favorite because it
could be extremely dangerous. Even if the meetings are
held in public places, you have to be careful with people
who you meet on the Internet. Meeting people on the
Internet is just not safe. You never know who are about to
meet with and that is scary. With all the crazy things
going on in this world, I would not recommend anyone
meeting with someone over the internet. If people want to
meet up, background checks, and appropriate measures
should be taken before they can be a member on the site
to ensure the safety of all members.
