2. The Story of The Louisiana
Purchase
The Louisiana Purchase was without doubt
the cheapest piece of land, considering its
area. Each acre was roughly about 4 cents
per acre. Now that's cheap!France proposed
that all of the Louisiana Purchase land
costed $15,000,000.00. The U.S agreed to
the great deal (it was like getting 40% deal
off something worth a lot of money you
cannot afford) and France needed the
money to win two wars France was battling.
3. States forming the Louisiana Purchase
The states that formed the Louisiana Purchase were
Montana,South Dakota,Nebraska,Missouri,Iowa,
Arkansas,Kansas,The eastern Part of Colorado,the
western part of North Dakota,a small portion of
Louisiana, the eastern part of Oklahoma,a small
portion of Minnesota, and the eastern part of
Wyoming.
4. Border Areas
Just to explain how big the purchase was I will
tell you about the borders. Some obvious
ones are the Gulf of Mexico and CANADA.
that`s right , Canada. That is one of the
many things about this purchase. Also the
Missisippi River and the Rocky Mountains are
the side borders indicating the width. That
is a huge amount of land.
