20. LESSON # 1
MATURE in the FAITH
How do we mature in our faith and life?
How do we develop a sensitive Christian
conscience,
a strong desire to live obediently to the Word of
God,
a love for Bible study and prayer,
a dedicated commitment to ministries of
evangelism, mercy and justice?
21. MATURE in the FAITH
What or who were the formative influences
in your life?’
23. MATURE in the FAITH
Paul and Barnabas majored on teaching (Acts
11:26).
The church at Antioch had a list their teachers
(Acts 13:1):
does yours?
24. MATURE in the FAITH
HIS LIFE MUST HAVE A MINISTRY OF
TEACHING
WE MUST HAVE TEACHERS
WE MUST BE COMMITTED TO TEACHING
25. MATURE in the FAITH
The religion of Israel was a teaching religion
(see eg. Exodus
18:20, Deuteronomy 6:1): the law of Moses was
first a lesson, then a command.
Jesus was a rabbi, a teacher (eg Mark 1:38),
and
commanded his followers to go into the world
and teach all nations (Matthew 28:19-20).
26. MATURE in the FAITH
The early Christian churches took seriously the
function of teaching (Acts 13:1, 1 Corinthians
12:28, Ephesians
4:11, 2 Timothy 1:11).

31. LESSON # 2 SPIRITUAL GIFT
The spiritual gift of teaching is one of the gifts of
the Holy Spirit (Romans 12:6–8; 1 Corinthians
12:28; Ephesians 4:1–12).
It is a gift given by the Holy Spirit, enabling one
to effectively communicate the truths of the Bible
to others. It is most often, but not always, used in
the context of the local church.
32. SPIRITUAL GIFT
The gift of teaching involves the analysis and
proclamation of the Word of God, explaining the
meaning, context, and application to the hearer’s
life.
The gifted teacher is one who has the unique
ability to clearly instruct and communicate
knowledge, specifically the doctrines of the faith
and truths of the Bible.
33. SPIRITUAL GIFT
God gave spiritual gifts to edify His church.
Paul instructed the church at Corinth to seek to
edify and build up Christ’s church, telling them
that since they were “eager” to have spiritual
gifts, they should “try to excel in gifts that build
up the church” (1 Corinthians 14:12).
34. SPIRITUAL GIFT
A spiritual gift (charism ata in Greek) is a
supernatural, God-given ability to perform a
ministry for the building up of the body of Christ.
It is given graciously by God and cannot be
earned. While a spiritual gift can be developed, it
does require a supernatural ability to exercise it.
One of these gifts is teaching.
35. SPIRITUAL GIFT
The Greek word for “teach” is didaskalo s, which
means “to instruct.” We see examples all through
the Bible of teaching.
Jesus Himself was the Great Teacher, and Jesus
commanded His disciples to “go and make
disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey
everything I have commanded you” (Matthew
28:19–20).
36. SPIRITUAL GIFT
Jesus commanded His disciples to teach new
disciples everything He had commanded,
instructing them in both doctrine and holy living.
Christ's ministers are not to teach the
commandments of men or anything that is of
their own, or other men's devising, but only that
which is ordered by Christ.
37. SPIRITUAL GIFT
There are several contexts in which the gift of
teaching can be used: Sunday school classes,
Bible schools, colleges, seminaries, and home
Bible studies.
In Ephesians 4:11–12, Paul lists foundational
gifts for the building up of the local church. The
gifts are given for the building up of the body of
Christ. In verse 11 teachers are linked with
pastors. This does not necessarily suggest one
gift, but it does seem to imply that the pastor is
38. SPIRITUAL GIFT
The church is edified through use of the gift of
teaching as people listen to the Word of God,
what it means, and how to apply it to their own
lives. God has raised up many with this gift to
build people up in their faith and enable them to
grow in all wisdom and knowledge (2 Peter
3:18).
39. Make Disciples…
Disciples! Disciples! Disciples!
That’s the imperative if the
Great Commission.
Not just decisions for Christ,
Not just being born again,
But DISCIPLES of Jesus Christ.
40. The Lord made it clear:
“Go… make disciples” (Matthew 28:19)
He wants disciples, not just cold numbers
Nor a roll call of names,
But Dynamic disciples.
Who can make disciples? NOT ALL
Only a disciple can.
The divine strategy is:
“A disciple makes a disciple” (Matthew 28:16,19)
Disciple where is your disciple?
41. Belief Statement:
Believing that all Christians are ministers and
called to minister. We have prepared the
Leadership Training School program just for you.
This will help you grow in your faith.
We have a calling to TRAIN people to be
Generational Servant Leaders.
We want to give every Christian the tools they need
for a lifetime of growth and service for Christ
and the world.
42. The Need
Our church family has been growing in numbers.
We as your pastors feel that we have to continue
to pursue the purpose of God in our lives
by totally dedicating our being to Him
through Discipleship and Leadership Training.
That’s the reason why we started to believe God
for more systematic training of leadership
through our LTS program.
Our LTS has been designed not only to teach us doctrine.
But to help us understand the love of God and the
richness of His Word to us. LTS is not just a
Discipline of coming to a Christian Class but a learning that
will affect your children and even your children’s children.
43. The Need
We believe that God has called us to believe Him for
GENERATIONAL Leaders to be raised in our midst.
We believe that God has truly called you and has
chosen you to affect people around you wherever
you are or what ever you do.
