2. It is coming up on that time of year when you are starting to get ready
to take your college entrance exam. But it's no big deal right? Isn't it
just another test? No, it isn't. And it is most definitely in your best
interest to not treat it as if it is just another test. Getting into a good
college can be an important factor in you being able to follow your
chosen career path and the key to getting into a good college is
your score on the SAT. So stop treating it as just another test and
get out there and find yourself a good SAT tutor and increase your
chances of success.
3. The first thing you need to understand about the SAT is that even
though it has several essay questions it is for the most part a
multiple choice test. The way that the test is scored means that you
get rewarded every time you come up with a right answer but there
is no deduction for getting an answer wrong. What does this mean?
It means that you should not leave any blank spaces on your
answer form. Every single question should be answered even if you
have to take a guess at it. There are certain tips and tricks that you
can follow that will allow you to eliminate some of the possible
answers and have a better chance at guessing correctly even if you
have no clue what the right answer may be. An SAT tutor should be
able to teach you these tips and tricks.
4. But don't ignore those essay questions. Think of them almost as you
would a tie breaker. If you are going up against another student for
the last admissions opening at a university and your SAT scores are
the same then those answers you wrote out for those essays
questions can be the straw that breaks the back of one of you. Make
sure that you give well thought out responses in the proper format.
An SAT tutor will show you the proper way to structure your answers
to the essay questions.
5. The old saying goes that practice makes perfect and it is never more
true than with something like the SAT. It is impossible to completely
simulate the experience that you will go through when you take the
test but the SAT tutor that you choose should be able to run you
through a practice exam that comes pretty close to the real thing.
That real world experience will do more to help you with the exam
than any amount of studying that you may try to do.
6. Competition is becoming unbelievably fierce to get into the best
schools and programs so you should take advantage of every
opportunity to improve your odds. An SAT tutor will help you to add
a significant boost to your score. That score is what is going to get
your foot in the door at your chosen school. Don't miss out on the
chance.
