 Matching Sticks
 You need markers and 10-20 craft
sticks.
 Color every two sticks alike so that
you can make pairs for the
children to match.
 Lay the sticks out on the table and
have the children “Match” up the
pairs,
 1-4 players
 Chocolate Chip
Cookie Game
 You need: 1-10 dot counting cards , 4 brown
colored paper plates (cookies) and 20 black
quarter sized circles (chocolate chips)
 How to Play: First give each child a “cookie” and
place the “Chocolate Chips’ at the center of
the table. Mix the dot counting cards up and
place the face down on the table next to the
“chips”. The first child then takes a card, counts
the dots, and places that amount of “chips” on
their cookies. The other children than count the
amount of “chips” on the cookie to determine if
player one got it right. Have the kids all take
turns until all the dot counting cards have been
done.
 1-4 players
 Old Crayon Sort
 You need: a bag of old crayons and sheets of
different colored construction paper.
 How to play: Lay out the pieces of
construction paper on the table and have
the children place the crayons that are in
the bag to the corresponding paper.

 What you need: Pick 2 children from your
class and have them stand in front of the
group of sitting children.
 How to play: Have the children describe the
likenesses of the 2 students then have them
describe their differences.

 Feel Shape Bag
 What you need: A small draw string bag and
different shaped items to put in the bag.
 How to play: Close the bag and have the
children take turns to feel the bag. Have
them try to guess what shapes are in the bag.
When everyone has felt the bag open it and
show the children to see if their guesses were
right.
 1- Entire class
 Where is the Dog?

bucket
 How to play: Using space words have the
child place the puppy where he needs to be.
(inside, outside, on the top, bottom of, etc.)
 1- Entire class
 Parts=Whole
 What you need: 4 same sized circles. On the
first circle write the word whole on it. Cut the
second circle in half and the write half ½ on
each piece. Cut the third circle in 4 equal
parts and write quarter ¼ on each piece. On
the last circle cut it into 8 equal pieces and
write 1/8 on each on
 How to play: Lay the circles on the table and
ask the children which one they think will
make a bigger circle. Then show them that
when you put the same parts together that
they will equal the whole.
 1-Entire class
 Color Strip Patterns

the chart. One at a time have each child
come to the chalk board and draw a line
under their favorite donut. (Cherry or
Chocolate) When everyone is done total up
each box and make graph it on the chart.
Then ask children questions they can answer
by looking at the graph.
 Entire class
All of the activities that are in my slide show are
some of the activities I do in my class. All of my
supplies that I used, are supplies majority of
child care centers have on hand. I spent no
money on them and very little time making
what I needed. They are very easy to make
and also can help as a transition activity during
the day because they are easy to pick up .
