2. Backroom Productions
For our film opening we decided to create a
new production company called “Backroom
Productions” because it is a small company
that has come from the back rooms to
produce ne coming films.
3. A production company provides the physical
basis for a film or piece of media.
They may be directly responsible for
fundraising for the production or may do this
through a parent company, partner, or private
investor. It handles budgeting, scheduling,
scripting, the supply with talent and
resources, the organisation of staff, the
production itself, post-
production, distribution, and marketing.
4. A film distributor is a company or person
responsible for the marketing of a film. The
distributor may set the release date of a film
and the method by which a film is to be
exhibited or made available for viewing.
5. Vertigo Films is a British film
production and film distribution company
based in London, England.
Vertigo Films has been responsible for the
production and distribution of “The Football
Factory”, “StreetDance 3D” and “Monsters”.
Our film is quite similar to the distribution of
“The Football Factory” in that the director is
part of the distribution company and it is a
real-life-relatable British film.
6. The money for our film may have come from an
individual who may want to invest in a small
movie that will hopefully turn into a hit at the
box office. Therefore making it possible for his
film to be made with their money and possible
for the individual to make money which can allow
them to invest more money into another film or
into a sequel.
This happened with Harry Potter as it was such
hit, the profits from the last film were put into
making the next one even better each tme.
7. When deciding about who to put into our
titles and in what order, we did some
research of watching a number of other
openings to films including “nacho libre” and
“Go”.
Our titles start with the production
companies and end with the director. We have
also included the main actors, editor,
cinematographer and more.
8. Spin off films from a major film or group of
films such as a film about one of the smaller
characters from “The Avengers” or “Star
Wars”.
Also small scale British films that have first-
time directors or editors. Which would give
them experience.
