PETROMAX
Was Max Graetz wohl sagen würde,
wenn er wüsste, dass sein Spitzname
„Petromax“ heute viel mehr ist als der
Inbegriff der weltweit bekannten Stark-
lichtlampe? 100 Jahre nachdem „Pe-
troleum Maxe“, wie Graetz von seinen
Freunden genannt wurde, die Stark-
lichtlampe entwickelte, geht es bei Pe-
tromax nach wie vor um Licht, aber
auch um Feuer und wie man damit un-
ter freiem Himmel kocht und grillt.
Die Faszination Feuer inspiriert uns zu
innovativen Ideen für die Outdoor-Kü-
che. Für neue Produkte gilt dabei, was
die lange Geschichte der Petromax-
Starklichtlampe zeigt: Ein Produkt ist
nur dann gut, wenn es widerstands-
fähig, langlebig und reparabel ist. Nur
deswegen wird die aus über 200 Ein-
zelteilen bestehende Petromax Stark-
lichtlampe auch heute noch genauso
gebaut wie vor 100 Jahren.
Weil die Menschen bei Petromax bren-
nen, für das was sie tun, bietet unser
Katalog im Sommer 2014 mehr als 10
neue, aufregende Produkte, die es auf
den folgenden Seiten zu entdecken gilt.
What could Max Graetz possibly say if he knew that his nick-
name is much more today than the epitome of the worldwide
known high-pressure light? 100 years after „Petroleum Maxe“,
as Graetz was called by his friends, developped the high-pres-
sure lamp, Petromax still puts the emphasis on light but also on
the fire, on which you can cook and grill.
The fascination for the fire inspires us to find innovative ideas
for outdoor cooking. The new products attest to the long tradi-
tion of Petromax high-pressure lamps: A product is a good one
only when it is resistant, durable and repairable, which is why
the Petromax high-pressure lamp made of more than 200 indi-
vidual pieces is still built today exactly as it was 100 years ago.
The people at Petromax love what they do, which is why our ca-
talogue for the summer 2014 presents more than 10 new exci-
ting products to be discovered in the next pages.
Comment réagirait Max Graetz s’il savait que son surnom « Petromax » est
aujourd’hui bien plus que l’incarnation de la lampe à pression mondialement con-
nue? Chez Petromax, 100 ans après que « Petroleum Maxe », tel que Graetz était
appelé par ses amis, ait développé la lampe à pression, c’est non seulement encore
et toujours la lumière, mais aussi le feu, ainsi que la cuisson et les grillades en plein
air, qui occupent le devant de la scène.
Notre fascination pour le feu nous inspire des idées innovatrices pour la cuisine ru-
stique en plein air. Les nouveaux produits s’inscrivent dans la longue histoire des

Die Petromax ist die wohl bekannteste Starklichtlampe der Welt. Seit
mehr als 100 Jahren wird sie als wetterresistente und zuverlässige
Beleuchtung vielseitig eingesetzt. Fischerboote beispielsweise
beleuchten mit ihrer beeindruckenden Lichtleistung von über 400 Watt

HK500 ELEKTRO
Die bekannte Starklichtlampe ist ebenfalls in einer elektrischen Version für
den Innenbereich erhältlich, für den sie eigens konstruiert wurde. Hierzu
wurde die Petromax Elektro mit einer E27-Fassung aufgerüstet.
Die Grundkomponenten der elektrischen Lampe sind deckungsgleich mit
dem Original, welches mit Petroleum betrieben wird. Durch das mattierte
Suprax Glas steht die Lampe der Petroleum betriebenen Version in
Anmut und Eleganz in nichts nach, gewährleistet jedoch, dass sich ein
stimmungsvolles Licht im Raum verteilt.

Petromax lamps are also available as electric versions for indoor use. For
that purpose, the electric version was developed and an E27 socket was
added to the bottom.
The electric Petromax lamp is constructed of the same basic components
found in the traditional version using kerosene as fuel. While maintaining
grace and elegance of the traditional version, the electric lamp comes with
a frosted Suprax glass that ensures a comfortable and soft illumination.

den gusseisernen Feuertopf (z. B. den Petromax ft3, ft6 oder ft9) auf die
glühenden Briketts im Petromax Atago. Für Pfannen- und Wokgerichte
platzieren Sie Ihren Wok oben auf der runden Öffnung des Petromax
Atago. Da der Wok oder der Feuertopf vom Atago umgeben wird, ist
für eine optimale Hitzeausbeute gesorgt. Um den Petromax Atago ganz

Extremely robust and with outdoor enthusiasts in mind, the Petromax
Atago is an unrivalled all-in-one tool that can be used as a conventional
barbecue, a stove, an oven, and a fire pit with charcoal briquettes or
firewood. With its 4 basic functions, numerous preparation procedures
and cooking methods are possible.
You can use the Petromax Atago in combination with a Dutch oven or
a wok . All you have to do is to place the cast iron cookware (e.g.
Petromax ft3, ft6 or ft9) on top of the Petromax Atago. Because the
wok or the Dutch oven placed on top of the Atago is completely
surrounded by steel, the heat yield is very high. Furthermore, the
Petromax Atago comes with a grilling grate, which serves to transform it in
a conventional barbecue . Without the grilling grate, the Atago serves
as a fire pit or as a coffee maker in combination with the Petromax
Percolator “Perkomax” .
Thanks to its unique extension-retraction mechanism, the Petromax Atago
is ready for use in a blink of an eye. When folded, it has a height of only
15 cm (6 inches), which allows you to save space when you store it after
a nice BBQ and a couple of drinks.

Le Petromax Atago est un appareil très pratique utilisable comme
barbecue, four, cuisinière ou brasero. L'Atago fonctionne au charbon de
bois ou au bois de chauffage. Grâce à sa diversité, il combine plusieurs
modes de cuisson, pour vous permettre de réaliser toutes vos envies
culinaires.
L’utilisation du Petromax Atago se combine avec un wok , les marmites
Petromax (par exemple ft3, ft6 et ft9) ou toute autre marmite de taille
similaire. Le wok ou la marmite est entouré de l'Atago ; en conséquence,
le degré d'efficacité est optimal. Pour une utilisation comme barbecue ,
il suffit de mettre la grille métallique (qui est également fournie) sur le
Petromax Atago. En retirant la grille, vous pouvez préparer un café avec
le Percolateur Petromax « Perkomax » ou faire un feu de camp .
Le Petromax Atago est facilement pliable et dépliable en moins d'une

Kochend heißes Wasser in wenigen Minuten mit der doppelwandigen Pe-
tromax Feuerkanne! Während Zweige, Rinde und Tannenzapfen knisternd
in der Feuerschale verbrennen, steigt die Hitze Feuers durch das Inne-
re der Kanne auf und bringt das Wasser in der Wand der Feuerkanne
zum Kochen. Sobald das Wasser brodelt und kocht, pfeift die Dampfpfei-
fe. Dank der drei Füße hinterlässt die Feuerkanne keine Brandstelle und
steht sicher auf jedem Untergrund. Besonders platzsparend transportiert
wird die Feuerkanne, indem man die Feuerschale verkehrt herum in die
Feuerkanne steckt.
Boiling hot water in a few minutes with the double-walled Petromax Fire
Kettle! While branches, barks and pine cones burn and crackle in the fire
bowl, the heat of the fire goes up through the inside of the kettle and brings
the water inside the wall of the Fire Kettle to the boil. As soon as the water
boils, the steam whistle starts whistling. Thanks to the three feet, the Fire
Kettle leaves no traces of the fire behind and is steady whatever the sur-
face. Pushing the fire bowl upside down in the kettle makes the Fire Kettle
particularly space-saving and easy to transport.

Petromax bk1 Hobo-Kocher
Der Petromax bk1 ist ein leichter und effizienter Outdoor-Kocher für unter-
wegs, der in einer robusten Transporttasche aus Ripstop-Gewebe daher
kommt. Weil seine Konstruktion den Kamineffekt optimal ausnutzt, wer-

Petromax bl1540 LED-Lampe
Die bl1540 ist die leistungsstarke LED-Lampe von Petromax. Sie leuch-
tet mit einem warmweißen Licht, dessen Leuchtstärke über ein kleines
Rädchen von 75 bis 540 Lumen gedimmt werden kann. Das robuste Ge-
häuse aus hartanodisiertem Aluminium macht die Petromax LED-Lampe
ebenso outdoor-tauglich wie ihre praktische Halterung, die zahlreiche Be-
festigungsmöglichkeiten und Aufstellpositionen bietet. Dank des integrier-
ten Batterie-Management-System (BMS) ist der Lithium-Ionen-Akku vor
Überladung und Tiefenentladung geschützt. Wiederaufgeladen wird die
bl1540 mit dem zugehörigen Steckernetzteil, welches mit einer komfor-

Petromax Air Pump Adapter
This useful tool facilitates the inflating of the lamp. The pump is replaced
with the adapter. Then, the lamp can be easily inflated with a car pump
or compressor. The adapter is suitable for all prevalent Petromax models.

Das originale Petromax Alkan Lampenöl ist ein nahezu geruchloses und
sehr reines Paraffinöl. Es eignet sich für alle Geräte, die mit Petroleum,
Lampenöl oder Paraffin betriebenen werden und insbesondere für
Petromax-Modelle. Entgegen vieler gefärbter oder aromatisierter
Lampenöle beeinträchtigt Petromax Alkan auch langfristig nicht die
Funktionsfähigkeit der Petromax-Modelle. Das relativ dickflüssige Alkan
trägt dazu bei, die Lebensdauer von z. B. Baumwolldochten zu erhöhen.
Der praktische Einfüllstutzen der 1000 ml Flaschen ermöglicht ein leichtes
Befüllen der Geräte auch ohne Trichter.

power output of 1300°C/2370°F with a running time of ca. 1 hour. The
