Increasing Library Awarness Through Collaboration

2. Dia de los libros, dia de los ninos (Children’s Day, Book Day) HPL, Head Start, Hispanic community representatives, Friends of HPL, Kiwanis (I think?) (and more than I am unaware of)
3. Host Business Before Hours and gave them the opportunity to help sponsor library programs like summer reading

5. Papillion La Vista Schools Foundation – library provides historical storyteller for 4th grade portal school experience
6. Papillion Historical Society / Leadership Sarpy Legacy group – install Union Pacific historical marker and rails on library property
9. As a result of inviting Lions Club members to participate as guest readers in a “Lion” theme story time they decided to financially sponsor story time for a year as also be regular guest readers throughout the year

11. Grocery store, library improvement grant, ABC Storm chasers, schools, senior citizens, boy scouts for disaster week
12. Street dance – Kelly Kirkman, city, Friends of library, bank (Pinnacle) Morrison popcorn. Wimmers donated wieners for Family night/dance

14. Extension and 4-H – after school programs at library facilitated by extension educator
15. Summer reading and family programming support by local pizza place with donations and lowered cost of food; also community members offering services free of charge – Street Dance

17. Book club for 5th and 6th grade students – meet in school library during their lunch time
24. Metro Community College – grants, joint services, we do their displays, we are an offsite option for their work study program
25. Recreation Center – joint programs like Dinosaur Egg Hunt – Dino Egg = watermelons

27. With Cozad Chamber & Henri Museum – held movie outdoors in conjunction with sidewalk sales this summer
28. With area businesses, posted pages of a child’s picture book in store fronts during Cozad’s “Quilt Around the Block,” marketed as “Read Around the Block” with unabridged reading of book @ the library
29. Began a book club at Meadowlark Point – assisted living center specifically for residents who can’t make it to the library. Must have @ least regular print, large print and audiobook to check out to residents
30. Elementary, middle and high school art teachers – had student are displays at the library
