WHICH COMPANIES AND PEOPLE WOULD
BE INTERESTED?
DO a Market Research! Look for companies that:
have a student target group,
are associated somehow to the subject of the
event,
have special sponsoring programmes.
Create a database
 Use web to gather information about the
companies/foundations
MATERIAL?
Make sure you have prepared:
 a presentation of your project;
 a presentation of the event (project outline);
 sponsor booklet (a Set of Possibilities – What can
we offer to the sponsors?)
 Make clear (in 1-2 sentences) what you exactly want from the
sponsor: money (and how much?), free facilities? other kind of
support?
 Shortly present Bridge It! & YOUR PROJECT (basic information,
especially the range of the activity, purposes of the Project and number
of the beneficiaries).
 Describe the project itself (4-5 sentences)
 Polite formula, thanks and signatures.
 Attachments: text about Bridge It! and your offer, available letters of
recommendation, detailed description of the project, expected number
of participants, budget etc.
1. Prepare yourself very well before (what do you want,
what materials to take, how to dress, etc.)!
2. Be on time!!
3. Know exactly what to ask for and what to be able to ask
for and don’t promise things you cannot achieve!
5. Be flexible in your approach
6. Never expect to walk out with a concrete amount but
know exactly when to expect it or call (make a follow-up
agreement)
•Make sure that you thank the person!
•Keep the person regularly updated on the
proceedings of the Team/Project!
•Involve the company/foundation as much as possible
in the Team/Project (they can give you tips, know-how
in organizational matters, useful contacts and etc)!
Send a letter of thanks for the meeting, hoping for
co-operation in the future
GENERAL TIPS (ALWAYS TO BE
FOLLOWED):
• Do not lose the contact once the event is finished !!!
• Keep your contact person always updated in the
activities
of Bridge It! And/or your team
• Send success stories or other publications
• Send Post Cards
• Update regularly your Fundraising database

  • 2. For be motivated, have 3 different strategies. What could be your project like if you’d get... 50 EUR? 100 EUR? 500 EUR?
  • 3. WHICH COMPANIES AND PEOPLE WOULD BE INTERESTED? DO a Market Research! Look for companies that: have a student target group, are associated somehow to the subject of the event, have special sponsoring programmes.
  • 4. Create a database  Use web to gather information about the companies/foundations
  • 5. MATERIAL? Make sure you have prepared:  a presentation of your project;  a presentation of the event (project outline);  sponsor booklet (a Set of Possibilities – What can we offer to the sponsors?)
  • 6.  Make clear (in 1-2 sentences) what you exactly want from the sponsor: money (and how much?), free facilities? other kind of support?  Shortly present Bridge It! & YOUR PROJECT (basic information, especially the range of the activity, purposes of the Project and number of the beneficiaries).  Describe the project itself (4-5 sentences)  Polite formula, thanks and signatures.  Attachments: text about Bridge It! and your offer, available letters of recommendation, detailed description of the project, expected number of participants, budget etc.
  • 7. 1. Prepare yourself very well before (what do you want, what materials to take, how to dress, etc.)! 2. Be on time!! 3. Know exactly what to ask for and what to be able to ask for and don’t promise things you cannot achieve! 5. Be flexible in your approach 6. Never expect to walk out with a concrete amount but know exactly when to expect it or call (make a follow-up agreement)
  • 8. •Make sure that you thank the person! •Keep the person regularly updated on the proceedings of the Team/Project! •Involve the company/foundation as much as possible in the Team/Project (they can give you tips, know-how in organizational matters, useful contacts and etc)!
  • 9. Send a letter of thanks for the meeting, hoping for co-operation in the future
  • 10. GENERAL TIPS (ALWAYS TO BE FOLLOWED): • Do not lose the contact once the event is finished !!! • Keep your contact person always updated in the activities of Bridge It! And/or your team • Send success stories or other publications • Send Post Cards • Update regularly your Fundraising database
