Aims and GoalsBISS Digital Learning Environment Strategic Planning Defining what a digital learning environment is at BISS and creating a shared vision for e-learning within the community Developing a digital learner profile and continuum for learning where both teachers and students can be challenged through logical and supportive standards and goal setting Defining an essential digital toolkit that can be used across the curriculum, including hardware, software, networking and support Implementing professional development to fully support goal-setting and growth along the continuum within the digital learning environment Providing opportunities for all community members to interact with, participate in and benefit from the digital learning environment
4. Strategic Goal #1 To develop a shared vision for e-learning and define a digital learning environment as it exists at BISS. Expected Outcome: Members of the BISS community create a vision that is clearly understood and shared and provides a platform for further goal setting and strategic development in e-learning. A digital learning environment model that is pertinent to BISS can be created and shared based on this understanding.

Strategic Goal #2 To develop a digital learner profile and continuum for learning where both teachers and students can be challenged through logical and supportive standards and goal setting Including skills, standards, attitudes and habits for learning Digital citizenship Approaches to assessment Scope and sequence, ISTE NETS, curriculum integration
6. Strategic Goal #3 To define an age-appropriate digital toolkit that includes associated hardware and software Standardize and streamline To support the teacher and student continuum Feed into budgeting

Strategic Goal #4 To develop a shared understanding of what it means to learn within a digital learning environment and create necessary policies and procedures to support this IT Support and Services Hardware and software review New teacher and student support Standardized wording in policies and guidelines Strategies for sharing and communicating with the extended community

11. Vision Statement What do we want learning to look like at BISS while using digital technology? What are our essential beliefs and values? Can we create a viable and realistic vision statement? How long/short should it be? Who should it be written for? Who is going to read it? How do we then act on it?

Staff Survey The ability and confidence levels of users at BISS How often and when hardware and software is used What elearning tools are being used with students now Teaching and learning styles – individual, group work (personal, collaborative) What are the obstacles to better use of digital technology What are the PD needs now? In the future?
