4. In what ways does your media product
use, develop or challenge forms and
conventions of media products?
Differences
For the main cover image
I used someone the
target audience would
relate to. Whereas the
Red magazine uses
someone audience would
aspire to be.
My magazine uses
colours that will appeal
to both genders and is
simple.
I used serif fonts for all
cover line headings and
sans serif for the rest.
The red magazine uses
more than one image
compared to my
magazine. Kay Green
5. In what ways does your media product
use, develop or challenge forms and
conventions of media products?
Thirds
The eye line and
masthead are in the
top third on both
covers.
The majority on the
masthead is in the left
third on my magazine
and the red cover.
The key information in
usually with in the left
third, however it is in
the right on mine, e.g.
The barcode, price
and issue number.

use, develop or challenge forms and
conventions of media products?
My content page has
a Masthead much
like the font cover.
I use multiple
images to go help
explain the stories.
However they only
use two main
images.
I use a pug, to
make extra
information stand
out.

9. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
I used Adobe Photoshop, Adobe
InDesign and a digital camera to
create my magazine front cover and
contents page. I used the
programmes to edit the photos as
well as create the pages.
I used the digital camera to
take the images for my
pages. I had used a digital
camera before to take
photos.

10. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
I used Adobe Photoshop to create my
front cover on my magazine. I have
not used this version of Photoshop
and the tools it has.
I used the heal tool to
get rid of blemishes
on the image.
Page layout for Photoshop.
I use Auto Tone to change
the colour of the main
image so that the student
stood out from the
background and so that text
could be read on the
background.

11. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
Using Photoshop I learnt
about using layers.
Having layers made it
easy to look at one thing
at a time or just the
layers I wanted to edit.
I used the pattern stamp tool to
copy the pattern of the wall and
repeat it on top of the parts of the
wall that had cracks etc. I did this
so that I could use white text and
it could be read easily. Kay Green
12. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
I used Adobe InDesign to create This is how I set up InDesign
the contents page for my to create my contents page. I
magazine. I have not used set up two pages so I could
InDesign before so I learnt a few add my Front Cover once I
things while using it. finished it in Photoshop and

13. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
To add images to my page I I then used the auto fit and
used rectangle frame tool and image fitting tools so that the
then imported the images. image stayed in focus and
Using this meant the pictures fitted the boxes how I wanted
didn’t always fit to start with. them to.

14. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
I used text boxes to add all the
text. I did this so that I could line I used a shadow tool on all the
all text up easily. I also did most images used on the contents page
pieces of text in separate boxes so that they stood out and help show
so I had more control on where the pages to go to for those stories. I
they went. This is something I also used this effect on the word
learnt to do as it made the page ‘contents’ to make it also stand out.
easier to organise/layout.
