HOW CAN THE ARTS MANAGEMENT
 PRACTICES SUCH AS MARKETING,
          PROJECT MANAGEMENT,
  PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT AND
MEDIA RELATIONS INTERVENE WITH
           EXISTING TRADITIONAL
               PERFORMANCES?
OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
To survey on History of Cavite in their festivals.
To locate and survey the organizers of the historical
 festivals and their practices of preparation.
To provide a status of existing arts management in
 Cavite.
To identify the arts management practices can
 intervene with the festival organizing practices of
 historical celebrations
METHODOLOGIES

 Key-Informant Interviews
    Ms. Khei Sanchez – Officer-in-charge, Public Information office,
     Municipal Hall of Bacoor City
    Mr. Robert Castaneda – Author of “Imus”
    Mrs. Conchita “Chit” Sambile – Tourism officer, Department of Tourism,
     Kawit
 Surveys
    Citizens of Bacoor, Imus and Kawit
    18 and below, 19-25, 26 and above
    Participants or Organizers of the festivals
DATA PRESENTATION

 INTERVIEWS – Ms. Khei Sanchez
     Art as a way of conveying messages.
     Art to encourage participation.
     The Art Industry of Bacoor: Emerging at a Glance
     Making livelihood and welfare available encouraging activities.


 Mr. Robert Castaneda
     The Arts… It runs in the Family
     Untouched Traditions: Feast Days of the Patron Saints
     The Importance of Original Families
     Arts Management is important.

 Mrs. Conchita “Chit” Sambile
   Journalist by profession, Arts and culture by passion
   Recently founded Kawit holidays by Mrs. Sambile (Kawit Day)
   Maytinis: “Kinagisnan”
      Was not founded even during the time Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo was in
       his youth.
      Maytinis means “to chant” or “praising God”
   Challenges of the “Maytinis” Festival: Financial Capability
DATA PRESENTATION

 SURVEY RESULTS
 Bacoor City Respondents:
     82% respondents are participants, 18% are organizers
     Most respondents are female and 19 years old and above
     53% learned about the festivals from their family or relatives
     The rest of the 47% consists learning about the festival from friends or print media.
     Challenged on the Post-production phase
     Began being aware of arts management since the interview with Ms. Khei Sanchez
 Imus Respondents
   60% are organizers female; 40% Participants male
   39% learned about the festivals from their work, 38% learned about the festivals from their friends
    and the 23% includes Family and print media.
   Challenged with the post-production phase (photo-video documentation)
   Not aware of the arts management practice
 Kawit Respondents
   60% are female organizers; 40% male participants
   37% learned about the festival through print media (souvenir program, monthly newsletter)
   60% believe that there needs improvement when it comes to the concepts.
DATA ANALYSIS

INTERVIEWS
    Interviewees not aware of the arts management practice but are aware
     of the practice in sub-contexts
    There is a difference between the historical and religious festivals:
       Historical and religious festivals
       Historical festivals
    Arts Management is needed to address to the challenges of the
     festivals; most challenges are when it comes to post-production phase
     which is the documentation and dissemination for the purpose of
     tourism.
DATA ANALYSIS

 SURVEY RESULTS
   The knowledge of the respondents depend on the information they are getting
    from the environment they are working with.
   Not fully aware of the capabilities of the creative industries to improve the
    welfare of the town..
   There is a need for the improvement of the post-production documentation and
    the management of the product (the festival) itself without getting political.
RECOMMENDATIONS

 Bacoor Recommendations
   Project Management : Documents and projects
   Production Management : Inclination of the arts (performing arts and visual
    arts) in the activities
   Marketing: Encouraging tourism and historical-religious celebrations
   Media Relations: Invitation of national media to cover the festivals Imus
    Recommendations
 Imus Recommendations
   Project Management: Documents and projects with the religious sectors
   Production Management: No problem with the organizing because it is an
    untouched tradition. It goes as how it was done before.
   Marketing: The post-documentation of the religious festivals must be well
    documented and researched to inform tourists both local.
   Media Relations: Invitation of national media to cover the festivals Imus
    Recommendations
RECOMMENDATIONS

 Kawit Recommendations
    Project Management: Documents and projects
    Production Management: Importance of art and culture in
     history
       Kawit needs to update their personnel and orient the citizens with
        the opportunities in managing the untouched religious culture there.
    Marketing: More power to the tourism sector in the creation of
     souvenir programs and making it available nationally.
    Media Relations: Invitation of national media to cover the Maytinis
     festival
CONCLUSION

Arts Management is important in the preservation
 and administration of the festivals; although it must
 be careful not to damage the delicate traditions.
Must put an emphasis when it comes to the
 production management to create quality
 productions and marketing management to properly
 market the festivals.
