The simplicity of nature in all its beauty is
truly a sight to behold. Think of majestic
mountains, pink heather growing wild for
miles—an uninhabited territory, a beautiful
landscape. Rugged, handsome, timeless,
and graceful: words don’t even do it
justice. Dip your feet into the earth and
take in the incredible air. Can you just
imagine yourself surrounded by the natural
elements every day, in your own home?
For those of you who have not considered
using ceramic tile, there is somewhat of a
tile renaissance movement going on right
now, and it’s all inspired by nature. And
the possibilities have never been greater
than they are right now.
Bring the outside in with stone- and wood-
inspired ceramic tile, ideal materials for
those who want the aesthetics and charm of
the natural element, but also want the ease
of care, durability, long life, and germ-
resistance that tile offers.

bathroom. Tile is not as expensive and
doesn’t require the constant upkeep of
wood. And, as an added benefit, ceramic
tile is an excellent heat conductor that
maintains its temperature when used with
radiant heating systems.
In the South, where moisture is an issue,
wood-inspired ceramic is perfect. Wood can
be damaged by sunlight, but tile holds up,
so you can have the desired wood look
without having to worry about warping,
shifting, insects or refinishing.
Wood-inspired tiles from Tile of Spain
branded manufacturers are an
environmentally conscious way of attaining
exotic wood looks such as wengé and
merbau as well as more common species,
such as oak, maple, and beech. The new
wood-inspired ceramic tile is so close to the
original that to see it, touch it or even to
walk on it will make you question whether
it is wood or ceramic.
The Habitania Series from Azulev offers the
colors roble (oak), natural cerezo (cherry)
and wengé (tropical timber from Africa).
Special pieces including skirting, borders,
and tacos are also available. This tile can
be used on walls and floors.
When considering using stone or wood for
your home, consider ceramic tile that is
inspired by these materials. Ceramic tile
offers unique benefits to make your life
and family more comfortable.

History of Chocolate
Chocolate is thought to have become mainstream in the
14th century by the Aztecs, who used cacao beans to produce
a hot, frothy drink known today as hot chocolate—the
delicious drink with the desirable flavor. Chocolate is made
from the fermented, roasted, and ground beans taken from
the pod of the tropical cacao tree, first cultivated by the
Olmec Indians in 1500 B.C.
FAMOUS CHOCOLATE MAKERS:
1852 - Italian chocolatier Domingo Ghirardelli founded
his chocolate company in San Francisco.
1868 - John Cadbury mass-marketed the first boxes of
chocolate candies.
1879 - Daniel Peter and Henri Nestlé joined together to
form the Nestlé Company.
1879 - Rodolphe Lindt of Berne, Switzerland, produced
a more smooth and creamy chocolate that melted
on the tongue.
1920 - H. Teller Archibald opened the first Fannie May shop
on 11 N. LaSalle St. in Chicago.
1922 - Harry London founded Harry London Candies in
Canton, Ohio.
1926 - Belgian chocolatier Joseph Draps starts the Godiva
Company to compete with Hershey’s and Nestle’s
in the American market.
Chocolate, known to some as the “Love Chemical,”
releases endorphins in the brain and gives us
mood-lifting effects, making its luscious taste
even harder for us to resist!
Deciding what to buy someone you love can be overwhelming to
say the least! Chocolate serves so many purposes, especially as a
wonderful gift—and not just on Valentine’s Day! It is the absolute
perfect treat Monday through Friday and everything in between. If
delicious treats are what you crave, Fannie May has many premium
chocolates to choose from, for any occasion.
Maybe you would like to send a beautiful floral gift basket instead?

on popcorn, flowers, even fresh-baked desserts—you’re sure to find
something special for someone you love.
For many, chocolate may very well be the perfect food group, or at
least a delicious dessert while dining out. Whether making dinner
reservations at one of the best restaurants in town or running out for
a quick bite, you’ll be able to save 10% to 50% instantly on your entire

Chocolate 101
Truffles, bonbons, chocolate bars, chocolate lava cake, mud pie,
chocolate ice cream… Chocolate commonly comes in different forms
that are used to produce these rich concoctions we crave.
DARK CHOCOLATE A more bitter tasting chocolate. Also known as the
healthy chocolate due to the antioxidants it contains, which are said to
aid in the reduction of blood pressure.
MILK CHOCOLATE Chocolate liquor with extra cocoa butter, sugar, milk
and vanilla added. By far, the most popular form of chocolate. It is for
the most part an eating chocolate.
WHITE CHOCOLATE Technically isn’t really chocolate, according to the
Food and Drug Administration, and has no real guidelines for its
composition. It is primarily made of cocoa butter, sugar, milk, and vanilla.
UNSWEETENED OR BAKING CHOCOLATE This is simply cooled, hardened
chocolate liquor. This is primarily used as an ingredient in recipes. Y ou
would never want to eat this like a candy bar! Semi-sweet chocolate is
also used mostly in recipes, like chocolate chip cookies. It has extra
cocoa butter and sugar added.
CHOCOLATE LIQUOR All chocolate is derived from the liquid form of
chocolate. It’s what is added to or taken from the liquor that produces
the different forms.

with, we got more space. We started out
living in a 700-square-foot condo, which
could have been cozy if we could have
gotten rid of half the contents. Instead, we
got rid of the condo. We moved to a house
three times the size of our condo, and I’ve
been in heaven ever since.
Now that I have more space, I also have
more patience. A pile is not quite as
overwhelming as it used to be. A box of
childhood toys can be placed in the attic
instead of a corner of the living room. If
he wants to hang onto every T-shirt from
little league to his beer league from last
summer, who am I to argue?
Yeah, right. You think I’m going to let him
get off that easy? The attic is filling up fast!
And as our family grows, so will our
possessions. Besides, I understand that not
everyone has the luxury of space so I’m
here to help. But where to begin?
CONFESSIONS OF
A Pack Rat’s Wife
Treasure versus trash — there’s no
better time to decide what’s what.
You’ll make more room, and
perhaps even a few dollars.
I meant what I said that sunny November day
two years ago… through good times and bad,
sickness and health, and piles of “memories”
everywhere. Okay, so the piles of junk, ahem,
I mean, treasures, weren’t part of our vows,
but maybe they should have been.
I admit it. I am a neat freak. I like things
simple, uncluttered, clean. So, how exactly
do you make it work when you’re married
to someone who thinks the shriveled up
boutonniere he wore at a wedding four
years ago belongs on top of his dresser?
This is the same person who dove across
the floor to keep me from throwing away a
pen that was out of ink simply because it
was from one of the colleges he applied to.
These are true stories, I swear. And there
are a hundred more where they came from.
The good news is, there is hope. Whether
you’re the “clutterbug” or the “neat freak,”
there is a way to make it work. To start
I love him, I do.

First, pick a part of the house to work on.
Are you ready to tackle the attic, or is the
closet a more pressing matter? Once you
decide, be sure to set aside plenty of time
for this project. Depending on the severity
of the situation, you may need anywhere
from a few hours to a few days.
Now comes the hard part. How do you
know what to keep? Unfortunately, that’s a
decision you have to make. But let me say
this. There’s no reason to throw away the
family albums, but if it’s the note that Jane
passed you in eighth grade asking if you liked
Dennis, and you don’t remember Dennis, or
Jane for that matter, why hold onto it?
If, like me, it’s your spouse who can’t part
with anything, try boxing up things they say
they can’t part with and leave them for a
period of time. If they don’t miss them, after
say 6 months, do they really need them?
Chances are, they’ll be so pleased with the
additional space and organization, they’ll
be okay with getting rid of a few things.
Now is also a great time to get creative.
Remember those T-shirts collected over the
last 30 years? Why not turn them into a
quilt? It’s a great way for him to hold onto
his cherished memories, and for you to
turn a few boxes of “junk” into something
useful. And if you don’t already know how
to quilt, it’s a great opportunity to learn.
You can also turn that box of
miscellaneous pictures into a collage.
Or take a box of knick-knacks from an
event and arrange them in a shadow box
to display in your living room.
And if all else fails, how about turning
the decluttering into a friendly
competition? Perhaps you can see who
can get the most money for their things.
That way, not only do you end up richer,
but you get bragging rights too.
Not very creative? That’s okay. Certainly
you appreciate the value of a dollar.
Perhaps money is your motivation. Would
you or your spouse be more willing to part
with items if you got money in return?
How about unloading those mint condition
platform shoes at a tag sale? If that’s too
much work, consider selling some larger
items on an online auction site. You can
even vow to use all the money for
something you can enjoy together—
perhaps that long-overdue vacation you’ve
been saving for.
Keep in mind, donations can be profitable
for you as well. You won’t necessarily get
cash in your pocket, but you can get a
great tax deduction—and we can all use
one of those. Besides, wouldn’t you rather
pass these things along to someone who
can use them now, rather than hold onto
them just in case you decide you need them
a few years down the road? And just think
of that warm, fuzzy feeling you’ll get from
knowing you’ve helped someone in need.
And if all else fails, how about turning the
decluttering into a friendly competition?

Organizational
simplicity is a
harmonious home
Perhaps you can see who can get the most
money for their things. That way, not only
do you end up richer, but you get bragging
rights, too.
Okay, so you’ve found the motivation right
for you. You’ve determined which items are
trash and which are treasures; now it’s time
to organize. Get yourself to your favorite
“everything store” and purchase some
sturdy plastic bins in a variety of sizes. If
this stuff is worth keeping, it’s worth storing
it properly. Get a big roll of masking tape
and a large black marker so you can label
all the containers. If this sounds rather
simple, that’s because it is. The hard part
is done. You’ve found your motivation and
made the difficult decisions about what to
keep. Now you just need to add a little
sweat and muscle and you’re done!
Please keep in mind, you can help pack rats
organize, but you can never change them
completely. You can beg and plead for them
to part with their childhood treasures, but
sometimes it’s easier to just pack up those
memories, label the box, and get on with
your life. Good luck!

  • 7. bathroom. Tile is not as expensive and doesn’t require the constant upkeep of wood. And, as an added benefit, ceramic tile is an excellent heat conductor that maintains its temperature when used with radiant heating systems. In the South, where moisture is an issue, wood-inspired ceramic is perfect. Wood can be damaged by sunlight, but tile holds up, so you can have the desired wood look without having to worry about warping, shifting, insects or refinishing. Wood-inspired tiles from Tile of Spain branded manufacturers are an environmentally conscious way of attaining exotic wood looks such as wengé and merbau as well as more common species, such as oak, maple, and beech. The new wood-inspired ceramic tile is so close to the original that to see it, touch it or even to walk on it will make you question whether it is wood or ceramic. The Habitania Series from Azulev offers the colors roble (oak), natural cerezo (cherry) and wengé (tropical timber from Africa). Special pieces including skirting, borders, and tacos are also available. This tile can be used on walls and floors. When considering using stone or wood for your home, consider ceramic tile that is inspired by these materials. Ceramic tile offers unique benefits to make your life and family more comfortable. • 9. 14 www.LiveWell.net 1-800-793-2318 gift-giving&cuisine History of Chocolate Chocolate is thought to have become mainstream in the 14th century by the Aztecs, who used cacao beans to produce a hot, frothy drink known today as hot chocolate—the delicious drink with the desirable flavor. Chocolate is made from the fermented, roasted, and ground beans taken from the pod of the tropical cacao tree, first cultivated by the Olmec Indians in 1500 B.C. FAMOUS CHOCOLATE MAKERS: 1852 - Italian chocolatier Domingo Ghirardelli founded his chocolate company in San Francisco. 1868 - John Cadbury mass-marketed the first boxes of chocolate candies. 1879 - Daniel Peter and Henri Nestlé joined together to form the Nestlé Company. 1879 - Rodolphe Lindt of Berne, Switzerland, produced a more smooth and creamy chocolate that melted on the tongue. 1920 - H. Teller Archibald opened the first Fannie May shop on 11 N. LaSalle St. in Chicago. 1922 - Harry London founded Harry London Candies in Canton, Ohio. 1926 - Belgian chocolatier Joseph Draps starts the Godiva Company to compete with Hershey’s and Nestle’s in the American market. Chocolate, known to some as the “Love Chemical,” releases endorphins in the brain and gives us mood-lifting effects, making its luscious taste even harder for us to resist! Deciding what to buy someone you love can be overwhelming to say the least! Chocolate serves so many purposes, especially as a wonderful gift—and not just on Valentine’s Day! It is the absolute perfect treat Monday through Friday and everything in between. If delicious treats are what you crave, Fannie May has many premium chocolates to choose from, for any occasion. Maybe you would like to send a beautiful floral gift basket instead? What a wonderful way of saying “Thanks,” “Happy Birthday,” or “Happy Mother’s Day.” You’ll find an array of bouquets, gift baskets, and savings at 1800FLOWERS.com. Chocolate 101 Truffles, bonbons, chocolate bars, chocolate lava cake, mud pie, chocolate ice cream… Chocolate commonly comes in different forms that are used to produce these rich concoctions we crave. DARK CHOCOLATE A more bitter tasting chocolate. Also known as the healthy chocolate due to the antioxidants it contains, which are said to aid in the reduction of blood pressure. MILK CHOCOLATE Chocolate liquor with extra cocoa butter, sugar, milk and vanilla added. By far, the most popular form of chocolate. It is for the most part an eating chocolate. WHITE CHOCOLATE Technically isn’t really chocolate, according to the Food and Drug Administration, and has no real guidelines for its composition. It is primarily made of cocoa butter, sugar, milk, and vanilla. UNSWEETENED OR BAKING CHOCOLATE This is simply cooled, hardened chocolate liquor. This is primarily used as an ingredient in recipes. Y ou would never want to eat this like a candy bar! Semi-sweet chocolate is also used mostly in recipes, like chocolate chip cookies. It has extra cocoa butter and sugar added. CHOCOLATE LIQUOR All chocolate is derived from the liquid form of chocolate. It’s what is added to or taken from the liquor that produces the different forms. 1-800-793-2318 www.LiveWell.net 15 Go online and get significant savings on hundreds of your favorite brands. www.LiveWell.net Chocolate bars, ice creams, cookies, cakes, pies, chocolate mousse, and more—Americans consume about 10 pounds of chocolate in one year; the Swiss eat about 22 pounds a y ear! 1 Printed online coupons may be required at some locations. • 11. 1-800-793-2318 www.LiveWell.net 21 with, we got more space. We started out living in a 700-square-foot condo, which could have been cozy if we could have gotten rid of half the contents. Instead, we got rid of the condo. We moved to a house three times the size of our condo, and I’ve been in heaven ever since. Now that I have more space, I also have more patience. A pile is not quite as overwhelming as it used to be. A box of childhood toys can be placed in the attic instead of a corner of the living room. If he wants to hang onto every T-shirt from little league to his beer league from last summer, who am I to argue? Yeah, right. You think I’m going to let him get off that easy? The attic is filling up fast! And as our family grows, so will our possessions. Besides, I understand that not everyone has the luxury of space so I’m here to help. But where to begin? CONFESSIONS OF A Pack Rat’s Wife Treasure versus trash — there’s no better time to decide what’s what. You’ll make more room, and perhaps even a few dollars. I meant what I said that sunny November day two years ago… through good times and bad, sickness and health, and piles of “memories” everywhere. Okay, so the piles of junk, ahem, I mean, treasures, weren’t part of our vows, but maybe they should have been. I admit it. I am a neat freak. I like things simple, uncluttered, clean. So, how exactly do you make it work when you’re married to someone who thinks the shriveled up boutonniere he wore at a wedding four years ago belongs on top of his dresser? This is the same person who dove across the floor to keep me from throwing away a pen that was out of ink simply because it was from one of the colleges he applied to. These are true stories, I swear. And there are a hundred more where they came from. The good news is, there is hope. Whether you’re the “clutterbug” or the “neat freak,” there is a way to make it work. To start I love him, I do. BY JENNIFER ATKINS LVWF 0001.04 Organization p.20 3/19/07 2:06 PM Page 2
  • 12. 22 www.LiveWell.net 1-800-793-2318 First, pick a part of the house to work on. Are you ready to tackle the attic, or is the closet a more pressing matter? Once you decide, be sure to set aside plenty of time for this project. Depending on the severity of the situation, you may need anywhere from a few hours to a few days. Now comes the hard part. How do you know what to keep? Unfortunately, that’s a decision you have to make. But let me say this. There’s no reason to throw away the family albums, but if it’s the note that Jane passed you in eighth grade asking if you liked Dennis, and you don’t remember Dennis, or Jane for that matter, why hold onto it? If, like me, it’s your spouse who can’t part with anything, try boxing up things they say they can’t part with and leave them for a period of time. If they don’t miss them, after say 6 months, do they really need them? Chances are, they’ll be so pleased with the additional space and organization, they’ll be okay with getting rid of a few things. Now is also a great time to get creative. Remember those T-shirts collected over the last 30 years? Why not turn them into a quilt? It’s a great way for him to hold onto his cherished memories, and for you to turn a few boxes of “junk” into something useful. And if you don’t already know how to quilt, it’s a great opportunity to learn. You can also turn that box of miscellaneous pictures into a collage. Or take a box of knick-knacks from an event and arrange them in a shadow box to display in your living room. And if all else fails, how about turning the decluttering into a friendly competition? Perhaps you can see who can get the most money for their things. That way, not only do you end up richer, but you get bragging rights too. Not very creative? That’s okay. Certainly you appreciate the value of a dollar. Perhaps money is your motivation. Would you or your spouse be more willing to part with items if you got money in return? How about unloading those mint condition platform shoes at a tag sale? If that’s too much work, consider selling some larger items on an online auction site. You can even vow to use all the money for something you can enjoy together— perhaps that long-overdue vacation you’ve been saving for. Keep in mind, donations can be profitable for you as well. You won’t necessarily get cash in your pocket, but you can get a great tax deduction—and we can all use one of those. Besides, wouldn’t you rather pass these things along to someone who can use them now, rather than hold onto them just in case you decide you need them a few years down the road? And just think of that warm, fuzzy feeling you’ll get from knowing you’ve helped someone in need. And if all else fails, how about turning the decluttering into a friendly competition? organization&moving DOC NAME: LVWF 0001.04 SIZE: 8” x 10.875" COLORS: 4c LVWF 0001.04 Organization p.20 3/19/07 2:06 PM Page 3

That way, not only do you end up richer, but you get bragging rights, too. Okay, so you’ve found the motivation right for you. You’ve determined which items are trash and which are treasures; now it’s time to organize. Get yourself to your favorite “everything store” and purchase some sturdy plastic bins in a variety of sizes. If this stuff is worth keeping, it’s worth storing it properly. Get a big roll of masking tape and a large black marker so you can label all the containers. If this sounds rather simple, that’s because it is. The hard part is done. You’ve found your motivation and made the difficult decisions about what to keep. Now you just need to add a little sweat and muscle and you’re done! Please keep in mind, you can help pack rats organize, but you can never change them completely. You can beg and plead for them to part with their childhood treasures, but sometimes it’s easier to just pack up those memories, label the box, and get on with your life. Good luck! 1 Printed online coupons may be required at some locations. Printed online coupons are not transferable and are valid once per vis it.
