MY CITYANKARA Ankara is the Capital City of Turkey which situated at the core of Turkey. The history of Ankara and its surroundings stretches back to the Hatti civilisation of the Bronze Age. After Hittites, Phyrgians, Lydians and Persians become the dominant power of the region, and in the 3rd Century BC.Ancyra of those times had been the Capital of Galatians. The name Ankara comes from the word 'Ancyra', which means 'anchor.‘
Ankara has been a part of historic events through several great civilizations, including the Phrygians, Lydians, Persians, Greek, Romans, Galatians and Ottomans.
In 1923,thefounder of Turkish Republic, M. Kemal Ataturk chose the same district to be the capital of newly founded Turkey.
Ankara today is a center of history and culture. There are very notable museums to be found within Ankara, offering a broad spectrum of information on a range of different topics, including the city's rich Ottoman history and even the founder of the Republic of Turkey himself, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. The Ethnographical Museum and the Sculpture and Painting Museum are important for their wide collections of artifacts from the area.
ANITKABIR Anıtkabir is located on an  imposing hill, Anıttepe quarter of the city, where the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of the Republic of Turkey, stands.
The award-winning Museum of Anatolian Civilisations should certainly feature at the top of any sightseeing itinerary.
TCDD Locomotive Museum- an open-air museum preserve all important artifacts of the city.  The War of Independence Museum -the first parliament building

Roman Theatre      Temple of Augustus and Rome Column of Julian
In Ankara there are some sites of natural importance, such as the lakes of Golbasi, Cubuk Dam, Kurtbogazi Dam, Karagol for resting, and Mount Elmadag for winter sports. In addition, Kizilcahamam is a thermal and hot springs center for places such as Ayas, Haymana and Beypazari.
Ankara is known for its wool, goat, cat, pear and honey, and the land itself is special and should not be missed...
Central Ankara has a population of 3,763,591 and Ankara is noted, within Turkey, for the multitude of universities it is home to.
Ankara has a continental climate, with cold, snowy winters due to its elevation and inland location, and hot, dry summers. Rainfall occurs mostly during the spring and autumn.
