2. PACT THEATRE - CENTRE FOR EMERGING ARTISTS PACT is a centre of contemporary performance for emerging artists – a platform for artistic exchange, experimentation and practice. 6. PACT PROGRAMS: A SNAPSHOT PACT Presents… PACT produces new work by emerging artists who have reached a level of sophistication with their work and who would benefit from a performance season.
7. PACT PROGRAMS: A SNAPSHOT Summer Chillout Lab PACT coordinates a 3 week peer-led l aboratory by PACT emerging artists w ho have been developing their own i ndependent practice.
8. PACT PROGRAMS: A SNAPSHOT Summer Chillout Lab PACT produces and presents a community hybrid arts festival. The two week festival includes: symposiums, in-house productions, v isiting interstate artist residencies a nd performances, all culminating in a LiveWorks weekend in Erskineville Village Tiny Stadiums Festival Community Arts Festival
9. PACT PROGRAMS: A SNAPSHOT imPACT Ensemble The imPACT Ensemble is a scholarship program offered to 20 young people who will meet on Saturdays throughout June – December. Participants gain practical skills in movement, body awareness, voice, improvisation and devising performance.
10. PACT PROGRAMS: A SNAPSHOT Quarterbred - ARI Quarterbred is an independent Artist Run Initiative and resident ARI at PACT. QB programs include –Programs for interdisciplinary residencies, events and laboratories. QB curate the Tiny Stadiums Festival and were recently named one of the “Top 100 Creative Catalysts” as part of the Vivid Sydney Festival.
11. PACT PROGRAMS: A SNAPSHOT Vacant Room Vacant Room is an opportunity for 3 – 4 emerging artists to explore and develop an original idea in the PACT space for 4 weeks. Artists are assigned a mentor who will provide them with 20 hours of time during the residency.
12. PACT PROGRAMS: A SNAPSHOT Masterclass PACT hosts a 4 week Masterclass P rogram. These range from weekend i ntensive workshops to full 4 week p rograms. The masterclasses and w orkshops are conducted by guest a rtists f rom NSW and interstate.
13. PACT PROGRAMS: A SNAPSHOT Incubate NCUBATE is a performance laboratory for Indigenous emerging artists. In 2009 it ran from August 24 - September 19, 2009. The program contains 3 strands. Strand one – a chance join a small ensemble of performance makers to participate in a creative process facilitated by Wayne Blair Strand two - a chance for independent artists to explore a performance idea, in residence for 4 weeks and spending 20 hours with a mentor. Strand three - students from local youth groups and schools participate in a workshop and get to know the artists through Q & A session
