Students will log their daily food intake, assess their current fitness levels, and set short-term and long-term goals. They will learn to make healthier food choices and develop plans to improve their fitness. The goals are for students to increase awareness of healthy habits and use self-assessment to track progress.

Week three: I will go over with students individually their current fitness levels in five
key areas: sit and reach test, sit ups, pushups, trunk lift, and pacer test. We will then
write down on their fitness card one short term goal based on the area they are most
interested in improving in the next week and how we can make that goal a reality. The
students will then go home and add their new goal to their blog and give a suggestion of
how they may obtain that goal. The students will be encouraged to make comments on
other student’s blogs in the class, give suggestions and encouragement.
Week Four: I will revisit student’s fitness cards with them individually; we will now
discuss a long term goal based on current fitness standards in the five key areas we
discussed earlier. We will come up with a long term goal for the student to obtain by the
end of the term. The student will then enter their long term goal on their blog site and
give at least one way they plan on achieving that goal.
Week five: We will discuss healthful eating, the food pyramid, and healthy snacking. I
will ask each student to devise a one day eating plan that is healthy and well balanced and
place it on their blog site.
