Kate, Lolomari, and Adoma presented on hydrogen fuel cells at Newcastle University on March 17, 2011. Their presentation covered what a hydrogen fuel cell is, the types of hydrogen fuel cells classified by electrolyte used and operating temperatures, the components and mechanisms of operation for hydrogen fuel cells, and locations and uses for hydrogen fuel cells. They explained that a hydrogen fuel cell is an electrochemical device that combines hydrogen and oxygen to produce electrical energy and water as a byproduct, and operates through a reverse electrolysis process.
