Hot Potatoes is a very popular quiz generator that you can download and install on Windows. There is a Java based version for Mac OS X and Linux as well.

1. Hot Potatoes Downloading and installing

2. Type Hot Potatoes into Google…

3. The Hot Potatoes Web site is first in the list (usually) Click on the link to go to the site

4. When you get to the site, click ‘downloads’ and then click on the Hot Potatoes Installer link

6. It might take a minute or two to download the 10Mb file

7. When the file has downloaded, find the installer icon on the desktop and double click the icon

8. Hot Potatoes was written by an ESOL teacher. The program has good support for languages

9. Just click Next…

10. Check the accept button and click next

11. Then next again

12. And Next again…

13. I like to have short cuts and a quick launch on the tool bar. Then click Next…

14. Finally, click Install…

15. Watch the ‘happy bar’

16. When the installer finishes, click next and then select the language you want to start in. You can change the language from within Hot Potatoes

17. You are now ready to start using the Hot Potatoes applications
