This person also develops the vision, budget, and long range planning for technology for the district.  This position also entails creating distance learning opportunities, participating in curriculum development, project development and team training.  The Director of IT also writes the technology plan for the district, designs the web portal for the district, writes and submits technology grants, monitors technology assessments and abides by the regulations associated with No Child Left Behind and other federal and state mandates. Administrative Assistant to the Director of Information Technology Services:  The Administrative Assistant is responsible writing and submitting inventory orders, invoicing parts, and the checking in and out of equipment.   Information Technology Coordinator: This IT Coordinator is responsible for managing the servers and other IT projects.  This person is also responsible for conducting inventory investigations and maintaining a disaster recovery plan.  This person also oversees the IT side of the department, as all three system administrators report to this person.  The IT Coordinator is also responsible for IT training, IT processes, and Erate.   System Administrator – Applications:  The System Administrator for Applications is responsible for supporting all software applications, including the district’s email system, and the district’s database of student records.  This position also manages and supports software for the school libraries, financial management software,  special education software, and the textbook software.  This position manages the Active Directory, supports the web portal, school  messenger, and Moodle. System Administrator – Infrastructure:  The System Administrator for Infrastructure is responsible for managing and maintaining the network infrastructure.  This person is also responsible for maintaining network hardware specifications.  In addition, this person manages the content filter, spam blocker, and the district’s bandwidth.  This position is responsible for managing network servers, overseeing construction projects, voice-over IP projects, and cabling projects. System Administrator – Operations:  The System Administrator for Operations is responsible for all teacher and student laptops , as well as all desktop computers.  This position is responsible for supporting servers, and the storage management (SAN) system.  This person also manages the helpdesk and conducts remote administration management.  The System Administrator for Operations also oversees the computer technicians that provide support to teachers. Database Technician:  This person is responsible for supporting and updating all of the district’s databases, including the student database, financial management database, library database, and te special education database. Computer Technician: The computer technicians are responsible for responding to work tickets in the district to support all laptops, desktops and other technology in the district.  Computer technicians are also responsible for loading software onto computers and for reloading computers if necessary.  They respond to work tickets created by stakeholders in the district that range from fixing printers to installing new hardware and software. Network Technician:  This person is responsible for assisting with updates to the district’s network, including the bandwidth and various servers.  This position supports the System Administrator for Infrastructure. K-4 Technology Specialist:  The K-4 Technology Specialist is responsible for assisting with the implementation of handhelds for all 4th grade students.  This position is also responsible for compiling all STaR chart data.  The K-4 Technology Specialist also ovesees the implementation of software such as Kidspiration, Office 2007, Lego NXT and Robotics.  This person also helps all elementary teachers integrate technology into their curriculum.  They also facilitate the use of Interactive Whiteboards and they manage the Technology Integration Guides at each elementary campus. 5-6 Technology Specialist:  The 5-6 Technology Specialist is responsible for assisting all 5-6th grade teachers integrate technology into their curriculum.  They also assist with the 5th-6th grade laptop initiative.  This position is also responsible for developing Moodle courses and overseeing the implementation of Google Earth, SketchUp, Data Studio, Probeware, OneNote2007, and Videography.  This person is also responsible for managing the network administrators at the intermediate and middle school campuses. 7-8 Technology Specialist:  The 7-8 Technology Specialist is responsible for assisting all 7th-8th grade teachers integrate technology into their curriculum.  This position is also responsible for managing distance learning opportunities in the district and our district’s research process.  This position also manages the implementation of United Streaming, Inspiration, CPS Software and LanSchool.  This person also works with the curriculum specialists to assist with integrating technology into the curriculum at all levels. 9-12 Technology Specialist:  The 9-12 Technology Specialist is responsible for assisting all high school teachers integrate technology into their curriculum.  In addition, this position is also responsible for Flash tutorials, E-Rate, and Web 2.0 Tool Research and Development.  This position oversees SharePoint which is comprised of teacher home pages, wikis and blogs.  This person also oversees the implementation of Audacity, ITunes, and podcasting.  This person is also responsible for the implementation and alignment of the Technology Applications TEKS, and they work with the librarians in the district to integrate technology. Campus Principals:  Campus Principals will ensure that teachers effectively collaborate with the technology specialists to enhance teacher effectiveness through the integration of technology with curriculum.  Principals will also work with systems administrators to ensure that all equipment is working properly and all staff members have access and know how to use all district applications. Students use the response pads (like TV remotes) to answer questions from textbook sources, PowerPoint presentations, question databases, or any other question source. CPS is capable of collecting class feedback and recording that for your grading and teaching use. Inspiration/Kidspiration:  Teachers willl learn the mind-mapping program and learn how to access the hundreds of activities already available for their students to use.CSCOPE:  Teachers will learn how to access CSCOPE, which is a research-based user-friendly curriculum management system that focuses on improving instructional practices in order to increase student achievement. Teachers will learn how to incorporate flipcharts into their curriculum.Using Blogs to Enhance Instruction:  Teachers will be introduced to blogs, learn best practices for implementing blogs, and create their own blog using blogger. Using Wikis to Enhance Instruction:  Teachers will be introduced to wikis, learn best practices for implementing wikis, and create their own wiki using wikispaces.com.Using Twitter to Communicate with Students:  Teachers will learn how to create their own Twitter accounts, and best practices for using Twitter in the classroom.Moodle Training:  Teachers will learn how to access online staff development sessions using Moodle.com. Using Technology to Improve Parent/Student Communication:  Participants will discover Internet tools that facilitate communication between school and community stakeholders. This person also develops the vision, budget, and long range planning for technology for the district. This position also entails creating distance learning opportunities, participating in curriculum development, project development and team training. The Director of IT also writes the technology plan for the district, designs the web portal for the district, writes and submits technology grants, monitors technology assessments and abides by the regulations associated with No Child Left Behind and other federal and state mandates. Administrative Assistant to the Director of Information Technology Services: The Administrative Assistant is responsible writing and submitting inventory orders, invoicing parts, and the checking in and out of equipment. Information Technology Coordinator: This IT Coordinator is responsible for managing the servers and other IT projects. This person is also responsible for conducting inventory investigations and maintaining a disaster recovery plan. This person also oversees the IT side of the department, as all three system administrators report to this person. The IT Coordinator is also responsible for IT training, IT processes, and Erate. System Administrator – Applications: The System Administrator for Applications is responsible for supporting all software applications, including the district’s email system, and the district’s database of student records. This position also manages and supports software for the school libraries, financial management software, special education software, and the textbook software. This position manages the Active Directory, supports the web portal, school messenger, and Moodle. System Administrator – Infrastructure: The System Administrator for Infrastructure is responsible for managing and maintaining the network infrastructure. This person is also responsible for maintaining network hardware specifications. In addition, this person manages the content filter, spam blocker, and the district’s bandwidth. This position is responsible for managing network servers, overseeing construction projects, voice-over IP projects, and cabling projects. System Administrator – Operations: The System Administrator for Operations is responsible for all teacher and student laptops , as well as all desktop computers. This position is responsible for supporting servers, and the storage management (SAN) system. This person also manages the helpdesk and conducts remote administration management. The System Administrator for Operations also oversees the computer technicians that provide support to teachers. Database Technician: This person is responsible for supporting and updating all of the district’s databases, including the student database, financial management database, library database, and te special education database. Computer Technician: The computer technicians are responsible for responding to work tickets in the district to support all laptops, desktops and other technology in the district. Computer technicians are also responsible for loading software onto computers and for reloading computers if necessary. They respond to work tickets created by stakeholders in the district that range from fixing printers to installing new hardware and software. Network Technician: This person is responsible for assisting with updates to the district’s network, including the bandwidth and various servers. This position supports the System Administrator for Infrastructure. K-4 Technology Specialist: The K-4 Technology Specialist is responsible for assisting with the implementation of handhelds for all 4th grade students. This position is also responsible for compiling all STaR chart data. The K-4 Technology Specialist also ovesees the implementation of software such as Kidspiration, Office 2007, Lego NXT and Robotics. This person also helps all elementary teachers integrate technology into their curriculum. They also facilitate the use of Interactive Whiteboards and they manage the Technology Integration Guides at each elementary campus. 5-6 Technology Specialist: The 5-6 Technology Specialist is responsible for assisting all 5-6th grade teachers integrate technology into their curriculum. They also assist with the 5th-6th grade laptop initiative. This position is also responsible for developing Moodle courses and overseeing the implementation of Google Earth, SketchUp, Data Studio, Probeware, OneNote2007, and Videography. This person is also responsible for managing the network administrators at the intermediate and middle school campuses. 7-8 Technology Specialist: The 7-8 Technology Specialist is responsible for assisting all 7th-8th grade teachers integrate technology into their curriculum. This position is also responsible for managing distance learning opportunities in the district and our district’s research process. This position also manages the implementation of United Streaming, Inspiration, CPS Software and LanSchool. This person also works with the curriculum specialists to assist with integrating technology into the curriculum at all levels. 9-12 Technology Specialist: The 9-12 Technology Specialist is responsible for assisting all high school teachers integrate technology into their curriculum. In addition, this position is also responsible for Flash tutorials, E-Rate, and Web 2.0 Tool Research and Development. This position oversees SharePoint which is comprised of teacher home pages, wikis and blogs. This person also oversees the implementation of Audacity, ITunes, and podcasting. This person is also responsible for the implementation and alignment of the Technology Applications TEKS, and they work with the librarians in the district to integrate technology. Campus Principals: Campus Principals will ensure that teachers effectively collaborate with the technology specialists to enhance teacher effectiveness through the integration of technology with curriculum. Principals will also work with systems administrators to ensure that all equipment is working properly and all staff members have access and know how to use all district applications. CPS is capable of collecting class feedback and recording that for your grading and teaching use. Inspiration/Kidspiration: Teachers willl learn the mind-mapping program and learn how to access the hundreds of activities already available for their students to use.CSCOPE: Teachers will learn how to access CSCOPE, which is a research-based user-friendly curriculum management system that focuses on improving instructional practices in order to increase student achievement.
