2. 2 Stafford MSD Mission Statement The mission of SMSD, a diverse and visionary learning community, is to prepare each student to become a critical thinker and an ethical, productive citizen, through an unwavering commitment to provide multiple life and learning experiences led by dedicated professionals using innovative teaching techniques in an engaging learning environment. 2

The SMSD Vision and Planning Facility Task Force, comprised of 30 parents, employees, community and business leaders began meeting in September of 2010 and spent several months reviewing and researching district facility and support operation needs in conjunction with the SMSD Strategic Plan. The committee developed a recommendation which was presented to both the SMSD Board of Trustees and the Stafford City Council. The committee’s recommendation was basis for the package that will be placed before voters on May 14, 2011. 3 How Was This Package Determined?
