Business information is introduced into organizations in a wide variety of formats including physical documents and electronic data. The document scanner is your "on ramp" into getting the physical documents scanned into your system and high quality optics, excellent paper handling, speeds at higher resolutions as well as service and support are all critical considerations when making your scanner decision. Cardiff compliments Fujitsu scanners with Cardiff TeleForm which performs automatic capture and data extraction of paper-based documents for integration into enterprise systems such as Cardiff LiquidOffice and line of business applications.
Please join us as we take a look at the “must have” components required by an automated Accounts Payable processing solution, from when your critical Account Payable documents, such as invoices, enter your organization, until they post. In addition, you will see how the Cardiff Intelligent Document solution for Accounts Payable combined with Fujitsu is revolutionizing Accounts Payable processing by automating manual processing methods and exception handling. This level of automation can save your company more than 90% of your cost to process invoices and dramatically decrease your acquisition to post time.

4. Camera Technology
• Overall comparison summary:
• CCD – high cost, best image quality, low power efficiency.
• CMOS – costs less than CCD, better quality than CIS.
• CIS – low cost, lower resolution, but good image quality.

7. Optical Character Recognition
NO. While it is legible to the human eye, the quality is too poor for
use as an archival master file. The characters are too pale and
uneven to OCR properly.
Causes
Poor Camera Technology / Inadequate Lamp Brightness
NO. This scan is easier to read than the one above, but the
characters have bled into one another and there is too much
"noise", or interference like the black marks surrounding the
text, to OCR the image.
Causes
Lack of Image Processing / Inefficient Image Enhancement
YES. This scan is easily legible, looks like the original
page, and will OCR without difficulty.

8. Image Quality – Forms processing/OCR accuracy
• Carefully consider how important image quality is to your
imaging application
Utilizing quality optics increases
recognition accuracy saving time
on manual indexing and increases
productivity ultimately reducing
overall costs.
