hurt. It took 3 years to
rebuild Ellis Island. In 1954
the government shut down

also, in 1965 the president
at the time made it a
monument/museum.

In 1954 the government shut down Ellis Island because they didn’t need it anymore, also, in 1965 the president at the time made it a monument/museum.
