An explanation of the benefits in clarity, fidelity, signal strength, operator safety, flexibility, and customization provided by the Klover MiK from Klover Products.
2. #1-The Sound
“We hear things that
were all but impossible
to get before”
(after switching to the 26” Klover MiK)
Fred Aldous, audio
consultant and senior
mixer for Fox Sports
3. #1-The Sound
The “True” parabolic shape of
the collector dish focuses all of
the sound energy on a single
point.
4. #1-The Sound
The Non-parabolic shape of our
major competitor’s dish focuses
the sound energy on different
locations. Only a small portion of
the sound energy is focused on the
microphone.
5. With most parabolic microphones, any movement
between components causes the plastic dish to generate
noise that can be picked up by the microphone.
However, all of the Klover MiK’s connections
incorporate vibration isolation components to eliminate
these unwanted noises. (Patent Pending)

6. #2-Operator Safety
Our competitor uses PVC to construct their handles.
PVC is brittle and creates sharp, spear-like edges if
broken.
We use carbon fiber tubes to build the handles and mic
yoke. These tubes crush into small pieces and lose all
integrity when they break.
7. #2-Operator Safety
On October 28, 2012, Jason Witten of the Dallas Cowboys crashed
into the operator of a Klover MiK on the sidelines of Cowboy
Stadium after an incomplete pass. The operator received 17 stitches
caused by his eyeglasses being driven into his forehead.
The operator was not injured by the Klover MiK itself, because the
handles broke exactly as designed. (The dish itself was not
damaged and the unit was back in use the next weekend.)
This is just one of several similar examples.
9. #3-You Can Replace Pieces,
Not The Whole
The modular design of the Klover MiK allows
individual components to be replaced if they should
become damaged. In addition, the handles and
microphone yoke have been designed to sacrifice
themselves in order to protect the more expensive
collector dish. There have been no dishes damaged since
the Klover MiK was introduced.
(Patent Pending)
10. #4-Faster Setup
The Klover MiK can be
assembled and disassembled in
just seconds. This saves time and
money.
The modules that make up the
Klover MiK are connected using
durable, easy to operate,
quick-release connectors. 40 Pound Load Test of Connector
11. #4-Faster Setup
The neck strap is attached using quick
release buckles. Cam operated clamps
also allow the operator to quickly
adjust the strap for his comfort.
Zip Tie slots are provided for securing
electronic equipment and cables to the
parabolic. Instructional videos are available on our
YouTube channel.
12. #5-Customizable
The modular design allows
modules to be replaced to
incorporate new features.
The standard cross-bar can be
easily replaced with a
monopod/tripod mount.
(A monopod greatly reduces
strain on the operator.)
13. #5-Customizable
As a small, agile company we can accommodate your
special requests. In large enough quantities, we can tint
the reflector dish, or print your logo on it.
We can also create a custom microphone yoke to
accommodate that new microphone.
14. #6-Stronger RF Link
Obstructions on the sidelines, such as people and
equipment, can block the signal being transmitted
back to the mixer.
The 26-inch Klover MiK provides a mounting
location at the very top of the collector dish. This
allows the transmitter to be located at the highest
possible location, without sacrificing the upper
handle.
15. #7-Easily Transported
The collector dish of both
the 16-inch and 26-inch
Klover MiK is designed
to be stacked so they can
be transported without
scratching the critical
internal surface.
17. Klover MiK History
It was soon discovered that the Klover
MiK was too good for the job. The units
behind home plate were picking up the
waterfalls in the outfield bleachers of
Kaufman Field, approximately 500’ away.
Fox continues to use them - in the
outfield.
18. Klover MiK History
The 26” Klover
MiK was used
exclusively by
Fox Sports for
the 2012 and
2013 seasons of
NFL and college
football.
19. Klover MiK History
Fox Sports tested the “Lite” version
of the 26-inch Klover MiK on their
“Game of the Week” crew for six
weeks in the Fall of 2012.
While the weight was reduced by
approximately one pound, the audio
performance was unchanged.
20. Klover Kases
Shipping cases are now available
to handle two or four 26-inch
Klover MiK units.
An extra shelf for spare parts and
electronics can be added to the
case.
Soft side bags are also available.
21. 16-Inch Klover MiK
Klover Products introduced
the 16-inch Klover MiK at
the 2013 NAB convention.
This smaller unit is ideal for
confined applications when
less range is required.
22. 16-Inch Klover MiK
In 2013, the 16-inch Klover MiK
was used for the MLB All-Star
Game, the AL Championship
Series and the World Series.
A major league ballpark
purchased eight units in 2014,
along with mounting brackets,
for season long use.
23. The Klover Box
Enclosures are available for our
Klover MiK parabolic
microphones.
Not only is the microphone
protected, but a unique mounting
system lets the microphone be
targeted, or aimed, from outside
the enclosure.
24. 9-Inch Klover MiK
The 9-inch Klover MiK was
introduced at the 2014 NAB
convention.
This unit is small enough to
be mounted almost anywhere,
including directly on a
camera.
25. 9-Inch Klover MiK
The 9-inch Klover MiK uses
any omni-directional
lavaliere microphone that
the user has available.
This allows any lavaliere to
be used as an excellent long-
distance microphone.
